So i've been looking around for some roof racks for my M35 ARX, without much luck. had a search in the forum...no love either.

Has anyone fitted roof racks to their M35? if so - where, how and how much?

I have tried ARB and Roof Rack City (in adelaide) but neither are very willing to help out if it's not in their magic book of standard products.

Only looking to carry a couple of surfboards/snowboards, so no massive loads or anything.

Do roof racks from any other model fit the M35?

I got my racks from Roof Rack City in Artarmon (sydney). They are the importer of Thule into Australia so they will be able to advise you of the best model and where to get it from in SA.

If you have no luck with them send me a PM and I will find the part number for the racks.

Cheers

Andy

OMG... I would have sworn that I had posted the part number some where... What I can find are pictures of the part that mounts on the roof and the foot on the bar locks onto it. I used the thule Aero bar but you can use the square bar if you prefer.

Here are the pics. I will call them tomorrow and see if I can get the part number from them.

Hi Guys

I called Thule today and tried to clarify what was available for the M35. The answers are:

* The fit kit I have is no longer available so they have a new solution.

The solution is.

Fit Kit = TK3034

Foot kit = RT753

Aero bar 135cm

Total kit cost is $360 (plus postage if you are interstate)

There is a small amount of modification required to the fit kit to make it fir the M35.

If you are interested in getting this roof rack kit you can phone, Dan @ Roof Rack World on 02 9439 2677.

He knows what our cars are and can set up a set for you and send it out to the guys who are interstate.

This is their site if you want to look at it. http://www.roofrackworld.com.au/

Cheers

Andy

  • 5 months later...

I have been searching for racks and found a website in Japanese that has a kit specifically for the NM35, I just cant find anyone that sells the products in Australia. They are RV INNO kit number 271.

The bars are your typical square look.

I have just made an enquiry to an Australian company called RAK, they have telescopic, universal fit racks. Has anyone tried these? The bars on it are a squashed look for aerodynamics and are anodised aluminium from memory. The Kit was $298.

I will keep you posted on fitment.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
