There's a time..., a time for Living

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I’m writing this because after today I only have a few days left of the year online and wanted to make sure I got this up. I’ll be back at work and posting on the 7th January but I wanted to leave you with something to round up the year, for myself.

It’s been a big one for me, lets recap shall we: I got my Liner in Feb, I’ve discovered a few more layers to life and made heaps of new friends. I rode in Leewah’s GT-R as it ran an 11.03 at Heathcote (not many can say they’ve done that) and I’ve even gained a new perspective on myself.

So what have I learned this year? Well, I can say that one of the main things I learned is that starting a good funny thread can entertain you for days. With that in mind I’d like to point out that this isn’t such a thread. Feel free to whore it but its primarily just to say that I hope you all have a great silly season and go nutz whatever you do. See you round guys.

Here are few thank you’s to people who’ve helped make my year a good one.

Leewah: For being such great and valued mate since 1995.

Ice Performance: For all the guidance and help. Cheers G and N

Jamezilla: for promising to hook me up with Bar 20 girls. (It’s the thought that counts mate)

Pred: For saying Hi at Heathcote once. I wasn’t sure it was you at first.

Horus: for the advice on getting my medication to work faster.

Maximus007: For the 1st cruise I ever went on

Dark: for reassuring me that the quest for true love isn’t wasted on our youngens

The VL Boys: For absolutely nothing.

The forum ad mins: For admining the forum “duh”

To Nark, Monkey and Inasnt: for the endless hilarity.

Ash: For organising the most comprehensively planned cruise that I didn’t go on.

Smoothline: For letting us know how much better QLD weather is than ours

To everyone else that I’ve left out:

BE MORE MEMORABLE SO YOU MAKE THE LIST NEXT YEAR.

Have a great one all,

Ed

:(

Well i tried my best *COUGH* :bs!: :bs!: *COUGH*

HAHAHAHA!

yeah... i think the forums will be very quiet in the next two weeks.

I've noticed it's already a tad dull to what it was a few weeks back.

But then... the new year, and a whole new set-up for us all.

Should be great!

and yeah... that's about it, apart from Denham... YOU SUCK BALLS AHHAHAHAH :headspin:

well my parents are going to nz so i will be staying home all holidays, which will be great :( so i'll be on the forums a lot still, though probably not posting as much

merry christmas and happy new year to you all hope you all have a good holiday

i havent met you yet, but have a good one bro :( come back next year with another cool thread for me to whore plz :D

You have met me actually.

I already have my next thread all planned out for the new year.

It will be an epic journey to centre of everyone's soul as I dispense guidance, criticism and emotion on a scale rivaled only by the ROF from an M249 SAW set to HCR. And my words will have all the piercing impact of .50 SABOT round hurled forth from an M2 HMG.

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
