I'm kind of worried about getting my first speeding fine since getting the 34 cause i just really like giving it a bit here and there since my old car wasn't turbo just love that feeling of getting on boost sure hope i dont accidentally get pinged going close to 100 in like a 70 if i get a bit too right foot happy although 95% of the time i drive normally and at the speed limit so shouldn't have an issue i hope

mate there are plenty of opportunities to take your car out on the track if you want to give her a boot - a good session will cost you less than the speeding ticket, and all you need is a helmet (i think you can borrow from qr), long pants and a good attitude :(

Unfortunately the days of getting out of a ticket due to officers faults are long gone! I remember mum telling me how she used to get dad and my cousin many moons ago off of speeding tickets etc because one little detail was wrong like a number, address or type of car.

These days officers dont have to get your details 100% which is just crazy! If they cant copy your licence how can they be sure they have gotten you speeding under the correct guidlines and operating proceedures.

I had a parking ticket once which i challanged, because the distance i was parked away from the corner was 3 inches too many, the officer was gone and i didnt have a tape measure!!! My old car was a green vrx lancer 01.VRX sedan and they wrote down a black coupe with VRX.01! Couldnt get much wrong than that!

My friend is an officer and they have to go through so many tests, fitness, typing lol lol, swimming, mental evaluation yet they dont get tested on how to copy down a licence!

well i successfully got out of a ticket about 4 years ago

he filled my name out wrong, wrong car color wrong rego number, wrong date, wrong street, didnt write the speed / points deduction (when i rang the station he then increased my speed by another 5k's an hour) asked to speak to his superior, informed him how unprofessional the police officer was and that he failed to follow even the slightest bit of police protocol (refused to show me the speed gun with my speed on it) cops says ill cancel the ticket, the officer will be reprimanded for it..

maybe i was just lucky tho

are you sure the ticket was for you...?

maybe you just randomly picked up somebody else's ticket...

i think it may have been easier just to list the things he got right

^^ lol yeah it was for me, i was heading toward him, he went past me, did a u-bolt and he pulled me over..

the only things he got right was the time of infringement and the make of my car.. + also his name..

he was such a kent about it, asked to see the speed read out, he refused so i copped it on the chin, rang his station to speak to someone in charge.. the prick who gave me the ticked was put on the phone and he says to me, oh yeah i got your speed reading wrong u were actually doing 5km's more than i said. I said to him, mate you just can't change it now, put your senior officer on.. explained it to him, he said mate ill cancel the ticket and ill reprimand the officer who gave it to you..

booyah

cheers

yeah man. they have no fall backs for that sort of thing. I'd sue them for compensation.

That's really good as it sounds like that particular cop was out for you for no real reason. Generally the coppers are good blokes but there are the tossers amongst them. My brother in law is actually a police officer and he says there are some serious tools in the force but at least in general their pretty good

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
