So it's the new year and I walk outside to have a look around and there's this thing walking around the ground so I take a snaphot:

any idea what it is? I live NOR and I also saw a smaller version walking around as well which looked similar without wings.

It's got a massive head and forelegs and when provoked it didn't try to fly but I assume those are wings for doing just that or long hops...but it just kept walking along and didn't try to hop or fly.

After all that it's probably something common like a variety of earwig or something :P

    • You put the driver's seat on the wrong side! Incredible detail on all of this. It looks like you could learn a lot about the car just from assembling the kit.
    • I made a mistake today. I had a spot I fixed, and used guide coat and I kept sanding until it went away and it did (sort of),  the guide coat was still there if I used wax and grease remover but was gone if I just blew the dust off. I ended up removing all of the filler and can feel a dip lol. The weird thing was I could still feel something after removing the guidecoat when the filler was there.  Is the proper way to check that all guide coat has been removed is to use the wax and grease remover or is just dusting it off fine?
    • Issues 11 - 21 Finally got around to building a growing pile of weekly issues/parts and taking some photos. I did a bit of detail painting focusing on the fuel rail and injectors... these were originally all black plastic and looked quite unrealistic compared to the other parts. Also used some Tamiya panel line accent colour to give the whole cylinder head and surrounding parts a slightly weathered 'just run in' look to it. I've been following another Japanese guy's build and he's done the same more or less.  Also got a 1/8th scale number plate set to replace the GT-R Nismo plates that came with the kit, to go together with the 'just run in' theme.
    • Quick update, finally got an hour or two on a weekend where there wasn't shit weather, no sick kids, people visiting our house or had to work. Visited me old folks and the skyline...dropped  $10 of 98 in the tank and a brand new SCA shitter battery in. Cranked over a bunch of times but didn't fire up....pretty sure it's not getting any fuel. Gonna try some of the stuff suggested above, next time I make it over there.
