Well I ordered the HKS ones. Heaps more money but I think it'll be worth it.

One thing though I am not sure if they support nvcs?! The hks website seems to indicate they do, but performance wholesale say they don't....hmmm I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Hey Dude,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, I saw these on the dreaded Ebay have a look....oops i just noticed you've ordered HKS

oh well its still a good price for anyone that wants them.

So i now have a 264deg intake with 9mm lift and the same for the exhaust! should be interesting... will keep you all posted...

one thing though HKS cams are much better made than Tomei. Heavier and thicker overall...just feel stronger.

ok these cams are awesome! they are not even tuned and the cars goes sooo much harder!

i am at 0.5 bar by 2500rpm and 1bar by 3000rpm. pulls so hard and gernally feels far smoother. i am going to try advancing the intake cam a little 2-3 deg just to see if this will help with the lack of NVCS.

the idle just sounds meaty and i love it!

will have to spend some time tuning now!

All in All HKS Cams are the way to go....

Yep, you definitely want the thicker chunkier camshaft. Nothing like rotational mass to make things sweet.

I hope you don't plan on revving it past 7000rpm? 9mm lift is higher than you should go on standard springs. Hope you don't snap a spring or stuff a lifter.

if anything they will be 7mm once the lobes wipe off

pretty sure the hks 9mm's are ok, provided the std springs are still ok (not gone soft like many rb25's)

Repeated high rpm will break them eventually. Anything over 8.8mm is not advised.

But yeah, like you said, should be ok but it's the same as everything else...its always when you don't think something bad is going to happen when shit really hits the fan.

sweet bro, who did your tuning...??? thats a good result for a GTRS!

Marc Jacobsen of Godzilla motorsport tuned my car. I dunno, its pulled 337rwhp on two totally different dynos. IMO, it doesnt feel that fast, but, but I may just be getting used to it.

Most GT-RS's on the forums seem to be pulling around 250ish RWKW and I would say you will definitely get there with your setup!

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
