I have a S1 R33 gts t automatic

and have fitted bilstein suspension, jasma 3" cat back, and a KN pod. For some time now i have flirted with the idea of adding some type of piggyback! Out of all the many options out there i like the PRofec e-01 and was very pleased to see the abundence of info on one of the threads......thanks guys :D (and the e-manage)

i am trying not to aspire to a 12 second line simply because i want eat and pay rent etc! I simply would like to up boost! how high boost can you go on the standard turbo and core?

the only thing i will consider getting after the piggy back is a fmic.

is the PRofec e-01 the best way to go is there a better option for me?

pete

hey pete

I dunno much about the profec e-01, but I assume that u're looking for a fuel management system of some sort. A good piggyback one is the apexi S-AFC range. I put one on my car a few months back...it gave me 66rwhp right off the bat. I couldn't complain.

It won't increase boost though, but it will increase the power output on whatever boost level u are at.

standard turbo and core should be able to handle up to 13psi if I am not mistaken. If anyone can correct me on that, go ahead.

hope this helps

Pete forget about your ECU at this stage and finish off your exhaust. Going from a 3" Cat-back exhaust to a full (front/dump/cat/back) 3" exhaust I gained 10rwkw.

Then taking the boost from the standard 7psi to 11-12psi is another 10rwkw gain.

yeah what ben said... get a dump and front pipe and a 3" cat (round $700-800 for that lot) and defenately get a new intercooler before even thinking about management, Australia's climates really screw with forced induction without decent cooling... then, with the series 1 turbo, you could wind up to 14psi safely and you'd be looking at around 160ish rwkw with those mods.

Christian

As mentioned above, do the dump and get a front mount and a simple boost controller. And a boost gauge would help too.

The e-01 is a boost controller, not a piggy back, the e-manage is the fuel/ignition computer.

ok thanks guys... i will get hold of the down pipe and front pipe to finish of the exhaust! IF ANY ONE KNOWS OF ANY FOR SALE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

as far as the front mount goes i am avoiding it simply because of the cost and that i will probbaly have to replace the front bumper for airflow and room! i would think that it would be impossible to fit a gtr core behind the s1 bumper??

Hi Gson,

I get most of my exhaust mods done by Glenroy Exhaust in Campbellfield, recently got my front pipes done for the GTR their. No offence to BATMBL but can't see them doing any better job than the guys at Glenroy Exhaust & Paul always looks after me on price $$ 350 fitted.

Ask for Paul - "if you like" tell him Simon with the GTR sent you

PS: They been in the industry for years, & most of their work is performace stuff. The guys their really know their stuff.

Intercooler wise the trust R-SPL tube and fin core replacement would offer improved performance over stock and fits in the same position for about $900.

The airflow of the original postion is much better than a frount mounting but, has space limits.

See how you go without the intercooler upgrade first.

Totally agreee with benm.

Since you have a 3" cat back system, get one of batmbl's 3" dump/front pipe. It certainly did the trick on mine then get the SAFC to tune the air flow.

the R-SPL is the tube and fin core. The R-spl core is the one you get with the trust intercooler that bolts in the factory position (ie: it's a side mount not a front mount). Front mount intercooler kits are availible in a variety of core spec and sizes.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
