yeah i think Joe is telling us this from his experiences so i think there is something in this for all of us especially point number 5 huh!

When we do big cruises should we do what the rollaboyz do and tell the cops our map so it lets them feel as though they still have control of us but without really being incontrol. i don't want to be stereotypical but i have had a lot of dealing with police from working in the clubs. A lot of them like to be respected ineverything they do hence the blue flashly lights and the gun around there waste a lot of them let it go to their head. If they feel like they know whats going in then they feel respected...

Just a suggestion thats all there is pros & cons to it....such as arousing suspicion to the police......

Oh and the swear filter ****ING SUCKS **** not letting me put co-ckburn

As for the "Get a permit for your mods"

I have tried!! They are f ucking useless in that place.

"Oh we cant give you a permit until you get a yellow" ..... and "We dont have the "Blitz" pod filter on our list, only K&N and a few others"

I WANT to pay to havea permit but its not as easy as it sounds. Has anyone else hot permits and where did you get it?

Ben

WTF?

And AFAIK: They only say "Aftermarket air cleaner", or do they say "K&N model 43434354354 High Performance air cleaner replacement with built-in can opener" ??

As I recall, the rb cruise where they let the cops know was a disaster. They were followed and yellows were award to special cars. I think we're far better off if the cops consider us ordainary commuters.

And yeah, Joe knows all about point 5, don't ya :)

Tell the cops about cruises? no fu(king likely unless you DO want to be yellowed and have cops with radar guns everywhere. The little rollaboyz only tell the cops about their cruises cause they want to seem like they are a legitamit car club.

Im also agreeing with summoner the tv stations and cops have no fu(king clue, Leach hwy only resulted because beldon was shut down but the nazi scum, this was after tuart hill was shut down. It seems to me that all 'we' want is a place to hang out with our cars without a police presence, but all the cops want is for us not to congregate in areas, which is pretty ****. Leach hwy stuff is harmless, but as usual the cops are missing the bigger picture

Guest Butters_99

I am with Mr Lard and Summoner.

Operation Canary is a joke !!

"Operation Sticker(Canary) the ****ers coz we want to look good to the Public" is a better name.

I am sick and tired of cops using Stickers to hurt people. If there is somehting being done wrong. Do something about it.

Use yellows what they were intended for. smoke blowing POS's !!!

/end rant

You could always get a patition going asking the government to provide an area for such activities.

which they will probably reply with, we have barbagello raceway if there in a good mood or laugh at you any other time.

You could approach Barbagello to organise times, but they don't have lights for night time fun and most of you wouldn't want to pay the $$ to cover there costs and insurance needs for holding the event.

When was that??? The couple that i have been on the cops will cruise over and do what cops do "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?" then the main guys tell them that maps have been given and cleared with blah blah dept and was accepted then they drive off...... do you think they would do the same if we were in a big group rocking up at once??

Please understand guys I am not saying we should or shouldn't tell the cops it is up to you guys I am only putting pros and cons for both sides of the fence. I just don't want a group such as this being on channel 7 next... "last night at City West a group of car enthusiasts ended up being arrested for not comlpying with police presence to leave the area when requested, 20 offences have been listed and certain members of this renegade car club are now due in court in 1 month" I can see the headlines now!

Hmmmm actually that has PVA GLUE Written all over it!

Anywayz guys i just wanted opinions as to what you thought about giving police maps like how the rollaboyz do by the sounds of it it aint to promising:uh-huh:

Gees, PVA is getting totally harrased. Just cause he has little to no self control, and gets in trouble with the law, and is an accident waiting to happen does not mean we can bag him in every post, leave the poor sucker alone.

Greg. :devfu:

(PS, Don't really stop if you don't want to):D

I remember one rollaboyz night time cruise into the hills that i stumbled upon once that went into the hills, they told the cops about, The police decided to set up a booze bus on the nice switch back parts on mundaring weir road! Yer thats a real good reason to- tell the cops about cruises, Cops are wankers, thats the reason they are cops, for that power trip they get when pulling over a 18 year old in a commmodore and making the guy suck dick.

Sorry about the rant, just tonight i got followed twice by police on the way to work, minding my own business. not speeding, i dont like living in a police state.

RB gets to much police attention especially when they tell the police where they're going. As for leach hwy being used as a drag strip, thats plain stupid.. The reason all those cars kept going back and forth that night is because they didnt know if they were going to wellard, ankatell or naval base.

I have permits now for my bucket seats and my tacho. Mrsnrub blitz pod shouldn't be an issue, we have 1 of those steel 1's on the sti and got a permit for it as "aftermarket filter", aslong as it has a securing bracket.

Last night went there in friends car parked away and had a looksi, a few cars, nowhere near as many as used to be... went to look at a VL 5L and cop literly said "what you guys doing here? pissoff because your all loitering".. goto love that tact :D

haha yeh thats just it, fair enough less than normal, but still a reasonable turnout, few 180sx's, silvia's skylines, v8's etc. Lotsa talent this time too. Cops did make themselves felt tho being here there and everywhere, but was all fun :(

They ignored me when i questioned them about the new story.. or about permits for modifications performed on their vehicle etc :D

Ah well.. its all good :D

    • Who did you have do the installation? I actually know someone who is VERY familiar with the AVS gear. The main point of contact though would be your installer.   Where are you based in NZ?
    • Look, realistically, those are some fairly chunky connectors and wires so it is a reasonably fair bet that that loom was involved in the redirection of the fuel pump and/or ECU/ignition power for the immobiliser. It's also fair to be that the new immobiliser is essentially the same thing as the old one, and so it probably needs the same stuff done to make it do what it has to do. Given that you are talking about a car that no-one else here is familiar with (I mean your exact car) and an alarm that I've never heard of before and so probably not many others are familiar with, and that some wire monkey has been messing with it out of our sight, it seems reasonable that the wire monkey should be fixing this.
    • Wheel alignment immediately. Not "when I get around to it". And further to what Duncan said - you cannot just put camber arms on and shorten them. You will introduce bump steer far in excess of what the car had with stock arms. You need adjustable tension arms and they need to be shortened also. The simplest approach is to shorten them the same % as the stock ones. This will not be correct or optimal, but it will be better than any other guess. The correct way to set the lengths of both arms is to use a properly built/set up bump steer gauge and trial and error the adjustments until you hit the camber you need and want and have minimum bump steer in the range of motion that the wheel is expected to travel. And what Duncan said about toe is also very true. And you cannot change the camber arm without also affecting toe. So when you have adjustable arms on the back of a Skyline, the car either needs to go to a talented wheel aligner (not your local tyre shop dropout), or you need to be able to do this stuff yourself at home. Guess which approach I have taken? I have built my own gear for camber, toe and bump steer measurement and I do all this on the flattest bit of concrete I have, with some shims under the tyres on one side to level the car.
    • Thought I would get some advice from others on this situation.    Relevant info: R33 GTS25t Link G4x ECU Walbro 255LPH w/ OEM FP Relay (No relay mod) Scenario: I accidentally messed up my old AVS S5 (rev.1) at the start of the year and the cars been immobilised. Also the siren BBU has completely failed; so I decided to upgrade it.  I got a newer AVS S5 (rev.2?) installed on Friday. The guy removed the old one and its immobilisers. Tried to start it; the car cranks but doesnt start.  The new one was installed and all the alarm functions seem to be working as they should; still wouldn't start Went to bed; got up on Friday morning and decided to have a look into the no start problem. Found the car completely dead.  Charged the battery; plugged it back in and found the brake lights were stuck on.  Unplugging the brake pedal switch the lights turn off. Plug it back in and theyre stuck on again. I tested the switch (continuity test and resistance); all looks good (0-1kohm).  On talking to AVS; found its because of the rubber stopper on the brake pedal; sure enough the middle of it is missing so have ordered a new one. One of those wear items; which was confusing what was going on However when I try unplugging the STOP Light fuses (under the dash and under the hood) the brake light still stays on. Should those fuses not cut the brake light circuit?  I then checked the ECU; FP Speed Error.  Testing the pump again; I can hear the relay clicking every time I switch it to ON. I unplugged the pump and put the multimeter across the plug. No continuity; im seeing 0.6V (ECU signal?) and when it switches the relay I think its like 20mA or 200mA). Not seeing 12.4V / 7-9A. As far as I know; the Fuel Pump was wired through one of the immobiliser relays on the old alarm.  He pulled some thick gauged harness out with the old alarm wiring; which looks to me like it was to bridge connections into the immobilisers? Before it got immobilised it was running just fine.  Im at a loss to why the FP is getting no voltage; I thought maybe the FP was faulty (even though I havent even done 50km on the new pump) but no voltage at the harness plug.  Questions: Could it be he didnt reconnect the fuel pump when testing it after the old alarm removal (before installing the new alarm)?  Is this a case of bridging to the brake lights instead of the fuel pump circuit? It's a bit beyond me as I dont do a lot with electrical; so have tried my best to diagnose what I think seems to make sense.  Seeking advice if theres for sure an issue with the alarm install to get him back here; or if I do infact, need an auto electrician to diagnose it.
    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
