Ferrari will be nowhere this year sorry to say.

But anyway we will wait and see.

Anyway what i want to know is HOW THE f**k DID VETTEL END UP WITH MORE FUEL ON BOARD. Simple, the only way RBR COULD SLOW Mark down was to cause a glitch with his car. They tried and all they got in the end is KARMA.

And it showed their golden boy for the shit rookie driver he really is, because that was a rookie mistake.

Crying bitch Vettel hang your head in shame.

At the end of the day RBR and every other team don't give a damn about drivers so long as they win them races and score points which is where their money is made. If a driver happens to win the WDC then it's obviously a bonus for the team and it might just attract some extra sponsorship $$$. That's why being team mates has everything to do with this incident and why it should never have happened, it's a team sport where the team spend crazy amounts of $$ designing, building and developing these cars for the drivers who are in the teams view just the pilots who are paid crazy $$ to da a job. The more WCC points a team scores the bigger % of the TV rights their entitled to from big boss Bernie.

RBR have ZERO to gain by favouring one driver over the other, ideally every team would like to finish 1 & 2 and rake the $$ that come from Constructors WC points. Calling Seb a rookie is kind of amusing when you consider that had it not been for reliability issues with his car he'd be well and truly out front in the WDC as he would've won the first 4 GP's this year.... maybe RBR is favouring Mark and giving Seb unreliable components, even the suggestion is ludicrous when considering what's at stake here.

@scarface - re-read what I actually posted, I'm pretty sure I mentioned in my post that Vettel was not faultless in the incident either.

Not sure what your point is. MY point is that not only is Vettel not faultless, he is entirely at fault. If you're driving down the road and someone slams into the side of you while you're in your lane, it's not your fault. Webber gave Vettel enough room to make the pass. All Vettel had to do was maintain his line as Webber was doing. He did NOT need to swerve to the right to make the corner.

I disagree somewhat. Vettel is RBR's golden child in more ways than one. RB developed him and RBR want to get a bloody good return on their investment! We know F1 is driven by money, pure and simple. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't bring $ to the table you will go nowhere. Vettel is smack bang in the target demographic for Red Bull energy drink (think late teen to late 20's) his image fits perfectly with the RB brand, he is the long term future of RBR (signed to RBR till 2012 and currently in talks to extend it to 2015) Vettel winning and leading the WDC is a double bonus for RBR, it helps promote their product. It's the reason they are in F1 in the first place! They get a two for one deal if he wins the WDC and RBR the WCC. Webber on the other hand, he's the old boy of the pair and at 33yrs of age is outside their target market.

RB are involved in all manner of sports sponsorship, particulary motorsports - NASCAR, F1, WRC, RB Air Race and so on. And in every single area they aim at capturing the younger end of the consumer market. They might not back the young and up and coming star in every discipline, but they sure aim for it in most of them - it's a bit hard in RBAR, not many 21-23yr old hot shot veteran aviators out there! Our own Matty Hall (ex-RAAF Fighter Pilot and Commanding Officer) is a relative youngster in RBAR and he has already lived half a lifetime in his previous career.

I guess that's why the majority or 'millions' don't ever get to work in F1, especially as a team principal or team advisor.

I guess you don't get the whole F1 team concept and why this is the only reason and blame was laid in Marks direction. I applaud the patriotic nature of the argument but I would love to know what the argument would've been had their positions been reversed.

EDIT: Just to clarify my opinion in case anyone doesn't understand, in pure racing terms Vettel is 100% at fault in this incident, when you consider they're team mates it completely changes the situation

Now I'm confused...weren't they racing when the incident occurred?

Well i guess the milions of fans dont matter, all that matters is being an F1 Boss, but i fail to see how you can comment on that Talbo?

Because you are definitely not an F1 boss and if you were, you can go ahead and ignore what your consumers are telling you. I think thats the reason RBR are laughing stock at the moment.

And when i said Vettel was at fault 100% i was talking about the RACING and Mark had every right to stick to his line. Teammates or not would you like to see cars just following each other and when one gets to close the one in front just moves aside? Because thats hell BORING.

Mark is the better more experienced driver and handled the situation with maturity unlike that other clown that was gesturing like a moron all the way along.

We'll obviously have to agree to disagree. I never suggested that I'm an F1 boss but when you look at it from their point of view.... I also never suggested that Mark should've just moved out of his way for no good reason. Look at the big picture and what actually transpired that had a massive influence on why the incident occurred in the first place and why it should never have happened.

I actually think that the RBR team should share some of the blame for this also as ultimately they should've communicated the situation with Mark and Seb over the radio, obviously Mark's engineers were aware he was in fuel saving mode and no doubt Seb's engineers would have known this also.

And yes David they were racing, I should have added on the end of that

Just to clarify my opinion in case anyone doesn't understand, in pure racing terms Vettel is 100% at fault in this incident, when you consider they're team mates it completely changes the situation (when one car is in fuel saving mode and the other not, and at the same time both being chased down by 2 x McLarens)

He has a point - if both cars had the same load of fuel, how is it that webber has even a few litres less than vettel - and why arent they keeping comms traffic linked to each driver knows whats going on? If a team is going to be that petty, that pissweak that they have to micromanage their driver around a race course, then stuff it, we should go back to watching formula 3, cause team micromanagement is what is killing the sport by taking away the dynamics that the driver has to offer. they have no right as a team to back one driver over another, not for the sake of them winning races, but for the sake that they should be honest with their fans and the people who buy their product and follow the sport... as far as im concerned, any team that prefers one driver over the other is guilty of race fixing, whether they have final control or not. It certainly raises some issues within regulated betting circles.

Regardless, I watched this clip over and over, vettel had more than enuff space. Im no webber fan but he was holding his line, as was his right.

any attempt to spin it against him is just unsporting

  • 2 weeks later...

ahh good to see Ferrari back on the podium in Canada.....Mclarens are looking good this year.....Ferrari has had massive improvements......since the sphincter of the universe......cant wait for the next one in Valencia when they get more upgrades and Alonso on the top place...considering Ferrari's form so far in the championship he is sitting 4rd on the overall standings......only 9 points behind Webber......and only 15 points behind the leader

  • 2 weeks later...
over mclaren with their f-duct??? man your ferarri goggles are leading you down the wrong path there!! =\

but i still admire your pasion! =P

gotta throw some support behind him.....well he got held up last gp which helped the mclaren boys catch up on him.....i still reackon valencia is alonso's time to win

but look back on the last 4 GP's ferrari have made a lot of ground to be back and fighting for podium positions......so i can only expect them to do better at Valencia :)

Alonso and Kubica for podiums this round!

alonso had HUGE speed at monaco before he decided to visit the wall

alonso had HUGE speed at monaco before he decided to visit the wall

yep and by far he was the driver of the weekend starting from the pits to gain some points and finish in the top 5.....so ferrari are not doing all that bad actually

what a controversial race......webber was flying.....literally.....Ferrari got f**ked up by the safety cars....who let Hamilton in 2nd place through and held up the ferrari's 3rd and 4th.....hamilton got a drive through because of overtaking a safety car but the position loss for the ferrari's meant that the drive through wasnt justified as he didnt loose position......the ferrari's were looking strong for the race....and now we know for a fact that webber cant overtake

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
