Hi guys....

I was visiting Adelaide from Victoria a few days ago on the 26-28 December....

A very nice trip indeed, we took the long way along the coast and stop

in a few towns, also went to Kangaroo Island...

Saw a couple of Skylines in Hahndorf on 26th December, a parked grey/gunmetal R32 and a passing R33 with windows down...

Also the evening of 28th saw a silver R33 parked at the Chinatown...

If that's anyone from this forum, just saying hi... none of you will recognise me anyway, cause I didn't bring my Skyline, just driving my friend's Corolla...

Funny I only spotted 3 so far during those 4 days visit....

Didn't even seen any in Glenelg Beach on Friday night either when we went to Hog's Breath Cafe.

The thing I see (actually heard) more from our hotel room are revheads in commodores spinning tyres and revving through corners around King William St... very annoying when we tried to get some sleep at night, even worse and more numbers than Melbourne's Chapel St hoons doing laps... got one even doing burnouts for like 1 min or something... saw smoke everywhere from our window.

Thats becuase the police don't do anything about commodores. There is about 30 std. height commodores in Adelaide, and the rest sit on their arse, do burnouts, basically a law unto themselves. U didn't see any skylines cos half are in their owners back shed getting modded to pass regency, and the other half here cruize like were all ***n on the run so we dont get caught for a non std gearknob.

Then what about that humongous Holden building I went past everytime I drive to Geelong... I'm sure it says something about Holden Plant there...

No one is getting OWNED, Timmayy... Cos if I really know sooo much about Holden, I must have been a Commie lover and I would have not bought and would not be driving a Skyline right now! :(

Well put it this way mate....

I grew up 25 years in a place where Toyota, Toyota, and Toyota are the cars I saw on the road. Other majority cars are Honda, Isuzu, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Mazda and some Mitsubishi, hardly any Nissan. The rest were europeans like BMWs and Mercs which is out of reach by 90% of population, including me. Even Holden Gemini has long gone since I was 5 yrs old, and until 5 years ago when I arrived here on Australian shore, I didn't even know that Holden is still around.

As far as I remember from my childhood, we don't have Ford back there either. I've only known Ford from books about Henry Ford's Model T. I may not know for sure if Holden is in Geelong or Adelaide, but I do know Toyota is in Avalon.

The one in Geelong must have been just a dealership, but strangely the building looks like factory, maybe it's HSV or maybe they just make the bolts to be sent away to Adelaide's Holden factory.... Maybe my short memory and lack of attention fools my brain into mistakenly assume that Ford building is a Holden building...

My 2c

rs73 havent you heard of the Elizabeth factory? Holden originated in Adelaide, although parts are made in victoria like the v6 engine i think hsv is in vic aswell

Well finally there's some "light" here... yeah, it could be either the holden or hsv engine plant that I saw in Geelong. It's on the main highway on the left from Melbourne, can't missed it.

Elizabeth factory don't know abt it... although Elizabeth suburb does ring a bell as I think we went past there on way to Cape Jervis or Barossa Valley (can't remember now which way....)

Like I said... that's why we're driving our skylines now...

Anyhow, Trip to Adelaide was great.. look forward to do it again next year as there's still more to see that we couldn't cover in such a short time.

Happy New Year everyone, drive safe on the holiday and have a good one!

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
