I think for games that were banned/edited (L4D, MK9, to name a couple) they will have to go through the classification process again in order to receive the correct rating.

It does not make sense to automatically change to an R18+ rating without this occurring.

Shadow attorney-general George Brandis said it made sense that Australia's classification regime would now be uniform "classifying all media according to a single set of criteria".

So does that mean that games with an X rating will be available in Canberra :P

It was announced that games will NOT be re classified that have been banned. SO MK9 and L4D will NOT be being released. Most likely the makers might get sneaky and make a special edition or something to beat the system though.

Edit: steam will work hehehehe

Australia's First R18+ Game Classified

The future is now — Australia is finally set to receive its first R18+ rating, and the upcoming Wii U title Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is set to be the first one to receive the sticker.

The game has already been released and classified as MA15+ in Australia, but this re-release includes additional content and fixes specifically for the Wii U as well as incorporating DLC released for other platforms.

    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
    • Continental have consistently beaten the absolute shit out of every other performance tyre in Wet/Damp/Cold conditions and give up a little bit of time (half a second at most) in the dry. Almost like it's engineered for German conditions or something. I'd def give those a try.
    • I refer you to this thread on PF, by someone who knows what he's doing. Paints a good picture of the humble AD09.
    • Ha, I've never pressed the X in all these years incase it removed the notification for all Admins
    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
