Hi all,

Just was wondering if anybody knew if a OS Giken Triple Plate and flywheel suited for a R32 GTR would work/suit my RB25DET gearbox? I've got an opportunity to get one but I'm just unsure if it will fit.

A Triple sound good but I think over kill for you. Bragging rights only and you may not like it in traffic conditions.

Cool, just wondering why it would be overkill. I'm not too knowlegable with clutches so if you wouldn't mind elaborating that would be great. The car will be making around 280 - 300rwkws.

I have an Exedy Triple plate in my car, they are a pain in the butt in traffic if your an every day driver, you may stall your car a lot unless you can master its uses, they have a lot of grip and in a panic situation this could mean a car up you Ass , unless your running well over 400rwkw it would be a waste of time, a simple after market organic clutch would be my choice, IMO. I've got a Nismo Copper mix in my hot little hands and can't wait to install it.

Ziller hit the nail on the head, unless you need a triple plate, no matter the price, it's just not worth the reduced driveabiltiy. However to answer your question it will physically fit your gearbox/engine however you will require a pull to push conversion kit. I personally would stick with the pull set-up, they are nicer to drive especially in a multi-plate clutch. However if you decide on the OS kit we keep genuine Nissan conversion kits on shelf so feel free to drop me a line.

seeing as your info saying you have an R34, id say you have a pull type, but best check... i have seen some cars with older model gearboxes in them.. so checking what is actually in yours is advisable before you buy anything.

an OS giken twin plate was useless enough for a regularly driven car.. little to no friction point, i can only see a triple being worse.. but have never driven a triple and from twin plate experience, the exedy hyper twins are just as bad. infact the hyper single is too.

as been stated already, buy a heavy duty for your car.. if you buy direct from a clutch specialist they can order you anything you want from exedy.. if your running abit of power, see if they can order you a HHDB :cheers: normally cost an extra hundred to uprate it one further. once installed a HHHDB to an S13, despite being enormous, it was still lightyears more streetable than a twin.. that was with a 1200kg clamp load and a 5 puck button.

Hi Andrew, Pre February 1993 have a push type, post February 1993 have a pull type clutch. I was caught out, I have a 95 vspec GTR that had previously had a twin plate that was R32 spec (push type) so some funny business happened in the past! Yes its always good to make sure. Push type has the slave cylinder pushing out towards the rear of the car while the pull type has the slave cylinder pushing towards the front of the car. Cheers.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
