Ok, I have purchased a second hand pair of r33 gtr front driveshafts and would like to get them reconditioned before i fit them.

I have used a driveshaft mob in hawthorn many times before and do not want to use them as they are very hit and miss.. they get it right sometimes but other times they dont and i really only want to do the job once.

can anyone recommend a place in melbourne... i have looked on yellow pages and there are plenty:

Driveshaft Joints in Melbourne

cheers.

Made up a great strengthened drive shaft for my brothers commodore after he broke his in half, pretty cheap for the quality and they got the work done in less than 24 hours too which was pretty sweet.

I (and alot of other zed guys) have used Knox Driveshaft services with no issues to date.

73 Bursaria Avenue Ferntree Gully, 9758 4015. His name is Jeff, give him a call and he'll help you out. You might have to drop by his workshop to show him what you want done. His prices are good and I can't fault his workmanship.

yeah i've been using jeff for years.. i actually went and saw him the other day if he could help me out but he doesn't really do FWD driveshafts.. he said he'd reco them if i organise the parts, which i was considering but nissan dont sell any parts for driveshafts so all the gear will essentially be aftermarket - its an option if i coudl source all the gear but i rather take them to a reputable place that can do the job start to finish.

any others people?

they wouldn't touch the front shaft b/w the transfer case and front diff or the front driveshafts themselves? cheers mate.

If you're looking for Northern suburbs, I found these guys really good:

They built and balanced a custom shaft for me for a turbo 400 box into my truck

  • 6 years later...

Digging up an old thread, I'm looking for a driveline specialist in Melbourne.

I've always had some slack/backlash in the driveline since the manual conversion (all correct R34 parts), it 'clunks' when changing from 1st to 2nd especially.

I wouldn't mind working out whether it's the clutch/flywheel, box itself, driveshaft balance/centre bearing, or the diff.

Also looking at getting the following done:

  • Engine rear main seal
  • Input shaft seal and gasket
  • Output shaft seal
  • Spigot bush – if needed
  • Driveshaft rebalance – if needed
  • Gearbox mount
Any recommendations in inner Melbourne or the north?

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
