kevwrx
Hi Guys We have a few vacancies for our next skidpan training day on Saturday 17th April. Our skidpan training courses are conducted at the Attwood training complex near Melbourne Airport. The skidpan is wet and super slippery, to keep wear and tear to a minimum and to facilitate low speed skids. (This is not the course for you if you are a full-on hektik drift god) Its a great opportunity to explore your cars limits in a safe and controlled environment. We have an experienced instructor working with you on these courses. Each session runs for 4 hours with 6 drivers per session. We run a morning and afternoon session. Cost per driver is $140 Please contact Tessa to book your position 1300 652 693 or email her [email protected] You can learn more about our skidpan courses here.. http://driverdynamics.com/skidpan.html Kind regards Kev Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/311120-melbourne-skidpan-training-day-saturday-17th-april/ Share on other sites

DaVEyBoii
hi i was wondering if they have layouts or anything on the skidpan during the day or is it just circular like on the video? xscape237
You'll have to ring them to find out. I booked about a week ago. Afternoon session was full but some spots were available for the morning. $50 deposit with the rest payable on the day. I've actually done it before and its a crap load of fun. Couldnt help myself but to register again. You learn a fair bit. They have water constantly flowing at a few points around the skidpan, along with some really slippery stuff (not sure if its oil/soap/whatever) at two opposite ends. KezR33
Should I leave the Kumho KU36s on for this, or resort to the unknown brand of tyres that came with my stockies? I doubt there will be much wear on the tyres, considering it so wet, but would the semi-slick pattern affect the grip on my front tyres? WYTSKY
ive got Mitchelen pilots on, they are on the wear line on the inside of the wheel because of camber and about 2mm off the wear line on the outside.. im assuming that should be enough tread then.... because im getting new tyres a couple days after this.... pattyd89
Not sure if this is a stupid question, but is this a worthwhile session for a GTR with the attessa system? I haven't had the car long, so I guess I just answered my own question in terms of gaining a better understanding of the car with the awd system, but other opinions would be appreciated (don't want to deter the topic too much but just one or two opinions will be fine). If worthwhile, I am definately there (dependant on availability of spots of course). KezR33
I'd try it. Sure you might not drift amazingly, but you'll get a good grasp of how your car reacts when cornering and when you lose control. Besides, isn't there something you can disconnect in the drivetrain that makes your GTR RWD only? {TUBZ}
yea im in at the arvo session also. id say semis are not the best for a wet skid pan. ull get wheel spin all the time and ull not move..
