Test Drivers Getting Fines On My Behalf!

Definitely getting anybody who drives my car to hand me their license so I can take down all details and then I will be accompanying them.

When I (foolishly) had the Stagea up for sale, I drove the car each and everytime for the test drives. Sorry, but until you've handed the cash over, its still my car and my responsibility. I had a many guys on the phone sounding dodgy ... so I avoided them.

I would never let a potential buyer take the car for a drive without me in it ... even with showing his licence/ID to me, and even if he left a deposit ... no way. With all the car jackings, joy riders, ram raiders, bank robberies, and auto bonfires going on, its automotive suicide!

Writeoff was surprised when I said I'd take the car after only having been a passenger - I could tell that the car was mean with him driving, and I wasn't about to take it for a joyride and crash the bugger without having insurance in my name (its a very small chance but I wasn't gonna risk it)... first time I drove the car was to drop him off at his place after he delivered the car to me (after the funds had cleared)

Mine charged a flat rate of $1500, then extra $750(ish) per court visit plus travel time, fuel costs for him to get there and back.

If the case went to trial, which was the next step had I continued to contest, the rate goes up to $1000 per court visit.

The $7k mark came around pretty quick

At least he got me the best possible result for a guilty plea which he thought to be unlikely seeing as we'd "wasted the courts time" with the contesting.

I didnt drive my R32 when I looked at it, bought it from only sitting in the passenger seat.

I bought it when I was a P plater and 18 years old, it sat in my garage for a while before I even drove it because I was scared I would break it (true story) haha.

i'm suprised you trusted someone with your car, i ALWAYS go with them if they want to test drive it........always.

Didnt test drive mine either, saw the GTR badge and the colour and went yep, im buying that.. My sister wanted me to buy a stock as a rock 33 GTS's just cos it had a sunroof haha.. I think i made the right choice

Also, ALWAYS go with them.. Just think, you may not have gotten the car back at all..

bought my latest car unseen and in a town 8 hours away - its a pearler!

sold my boonga and i sat in the back while they test drove it - little did i know but my mrs was handeling a case where they were in deep shizzim (crazies) - they were ok to me though

got $500 off them in the end so all not lost (spent the whole time in the back thinking "dont blow up now, dont blow up now")

and i couldn't take licenses because HE HAD NONE lol

was going to be a spin around the block but i did get worried after 10 MINS!

Poor judgment of character on my behalf, combine with thats just how I've always done it and always had it done with me when buying/selling a car

lol easy fix dude.... with the speeding fine you have an option to recieve a photo of the speeding driver... ask for both of them and show the JP that it isnt you.... lmfao asif no one thought of this one?

if they sped past a roadside car mounted camera, they will have a photo of the back of your head, same goes with a traffic light permanently mounted camera.

NO IT DOES NOT YOU ARE WRONG, i've had 2 speeding tickets both from red light perm cameras and they take a clear front shot of your face. Who the hell said it takes the back of your head? have you seen the news where the guy repeatly drove pass red light cameras wearing animal masks so the police couldnt prove it was him.It was on the news not too long ago.. Speeding cameras take photos of the FRONT NOT THE BACK get it right.

geez man, got a bee in your bonnet? If they got done by a roadside mounted camera, which seems likely for someone test driving a car around the suburbs, explain to me how the camera, that is behind them, can get a photo of their face? Take a deep breath before you answer.
