Its more than he was willing to do, fair enough. If it were me...

He just needs another pair of hub dynos, or some rollers bolted to the ground under the front wheels would do the job.

Just got back from RE, Cihan managed to wring 211awkw out of it on 98, mods since last week's 195 tune were the plenum spacer, thanks Cam, and the 610cc injectors.

Then I dumped 60L of E85 in the tank, add 20% fuel to the map and instantly power shot up, we only advanced the timing 1 degree, boost 1 psi and as you can see, it made heaps more power right through, nearly 40awkw in the midrange. Needless to say I am very happy with the result.

Next will be the ecu reflash to rid it of the throttle lag, then if that doesnt work, the cable throttle will go on.

Nice work Scottie....but you have to stop soon as you are just tempting me to spend more money on my car....LOL

Very nice Sir... very nice indeed. :)

So if we went on the previous calibration of the RE dyno it would be around the 250 mark, as predicted, yes?

Is there any reason in particular that Cihan decided to stop at 1 degree advancement though?

hmm... 630nm does sound lovely... so what are the rules governing piggyback ECU's for E85???

More timing would just wear the piston skirts and I dont need the extra powah, or do I? Maybe next tune I will bump it up a bit just to see. As far as legality, I think you know the answer Cam.

You're right Andy, I have to stop sometime, but not yet. :)

lol...

I think you will be happy with that power figure for about 2 months (max).

I thought as much regarding the ECU, but I hadn't heard anything and I thought that maybe you had... oh well :)

hmmmm......guess that puts VIC infront in the KW's for the NM35.

So what am I chasing 211AWKW's on 98?.....only 9AWKW's to go! Might have to do something about that! :O

We should set up a Dyno shootout between the 2 states.....in Albury or Wodonga?

Wonder what mine will do on a dyno with some Sunoco.....think we might have some laying around somewhere. :O

In all seriousness.....well done Scott......we just need to get SAS into gear now aye! :(....starting to catch the tractor motors now aye!!! :O

lol.... 211.... sorta.

Remember when he dyno'd after installing the intake pipe? That same dyno read 221awkw.

Then at the dyno shoot out it read ~20awkw lower for some reason.

Would need to see it on a different dyno methinks, but I can tell you one thing... that damn thing f**king MOVES now.

Considerably faster than before (it actually pushed me well back in my seat last night - hadn't done that before @ "221awkw").

The dyno has to be reading low as Scotty's M35 is, from my experience, easily quicker than a 2009 Audi S5 Coupe

Yep, would be pretty happy with that :(

Theres definitely alot more room in the e85 tuning, my series one 260RS has had major power gains since tuning on e85, the extra octane allows for alot more timing without pinging. On 98 pump fuel i was making 313rwkw on 19psi, and at that stage it started to pick up a bit of pinging, so we decided to retune on e85 to see the difference. After a retune and seeing the power potential, extra timing and extra boost saw the power leap to 370rwkw on 25psi. We have since done a safe tune on 22psi making 350rwkw. I do have a full forged build though!

Trying for a bite mate? :P

I think you had better sort out your ecu issues first, wouldnt want the black barge self destructing on the rollers. ;)

Im guessing ive hit my goal of 250, I just havent seen the proof yet. Cihan thinks 260 is attainable on this dyno still but I need this a reliable daily.

Im really thinking of going with his suggestion of Cable throttle, even though I know it will be a can of worms. The throttle lag is very noticeable now. PITA.

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
