trying to sell my turbo 240k 4 door for $4500 with out much luck

its hard to find a good one as it is but this is a good one with little rust very straight just needs new paint as it is faded and interior needs carpet and the dash needs to be renewed fixed.

The engine has been rebuilt it has fuel injection turbo and front mount intercooler

ran 130kw on the dyno can do more just needs better computer

the engine bay was just painted and lots of new stuff put back in

has a 5 speed box short shift and new clutch

$4000 worth of receipt

i have only had some wanker in the UK and someone in kuwait interested so far.

Am i asking to much for a car you very rarely see for sale and can actually drive home

Or is there no interest in buying these cars at all ?

Can someone tell me a good place to advertise it?

L24 new pistons rings bearings fully balanced L24 decomp head with mild cam L20 injection L24 computer VL turbo injectors 130kw on 10psi 3 litre supra intercooler vortec rising rate fuel pressure regulator bosh fuel pump hope these pics are better and i will try car sales cheers Bryan

Wow thats a ripper!

Put it on Carsales, its a quick seller.

Can you give us details on the engine setup? The pics are TINY aswell, can hardly see!

If they are standard VL injectors, they will run out of 'puff', I did run VL injectors on my Turbo L24 (15 psi), and they couldn't flow enough fuel, so now I run 440cc RB26 DETT injectors, they work a charm.

Nigel

it runs VL turbo injectors ,tuneability with stock computer is a worry

power fc needs a crank angle sensor of some desription, like a turbo dissy or a big chopper wheel on the crank. or even a missing tooth on the flywheel

VL turbo injectors would run this no-probs, they are like 260 cc or so(give or take)

stock ecu can be tricked to a certain extent, if it works then keep it! dont fix what aint broke!

looks like a nice setup... makes me want to get up and do more on mine now.

Here are some higher resolution pics.

It seems to be put together with a good mix of parts, im actually impressed with the power figure for it too.

If I was loaded, or had a few spare grands, it would be a great daily driver while the R30 gets its makeover for the skylien nationals!

If this is still in S.A. in September it shoudl come join us methinks

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
