Norbert how much would it cost me to get you to install autowatch, with remote locking (or auto lock/unlock when alarm is armed/disarmed pretty much), the window module (to put windows up when armed... thats all) and i also want window break sensors, maybe knock sensor, and ultra sonics and tilt sensor ... id also like another feature installed but will discuss that at a later date if or when i decide to go ahead with everything.

Could you please Private Message me with details on prices of how much each individual thing would be to install, and what it would cost to install the lot.

This is a serious quote as i am interested in getting an alarm system installed into my car. (Nissan R33 Skyline of course).

so what if remote start is illegal, same way turbotimers are illegal, anyway remote start works on manuals as well, just drop in to car stereo city in osb pk and kevin will do it 4 u, full install cost about $700 from what i recall, but thats 4 the full alarm

i have a 2 button but at the moment one of the buttons does nothing...

so the right button will: put windows up, lock doors and arm alarm

and left button will start engine hopefully only after i have unarmed alarm if possible...

we gotta find someone that is willing to do it... purhaps i may learn and then do it on the side

uneekwahn,

goto www.rojone.com.au they have a mobile phone tracking system! It even gives you map coordinates/suburb where the car is, and how fast it's travelling over a mobile! ot cheap tho' (around 2k)

fane,

You can hookup auto-start on a manual, I did it with mine! The second button on the remote activates a relay that can start the car, once the car is started, the turbo timer takes over and runs for a few mins... then shuts off obviously...

This is the same relay that can open a boot release if you have one (I Don't) I didn't see the point in having it anymore so I disconnected it

Don't see why you can't do the same thing with the windows with a small timer circuit that holds the window-up buttons on for around 10sec ? Nothing's impossible.

any updates i'll post here... :)

anyone know how i can find out the model of my autowatch alarm? anywhere i can look...?

they are pretty good alarms and i cant find the actual control unit without spending more than 20mins...its up behind the dash somewhere i think...

See me at 135 Hector Street (West) we got most of the remotes in stock and will find the right one for you. Bring the 5 digit PIN with you as it is needed to program new remotes.

So How's the idea?

Guys how much is it to upgrade from 2 buttons blue series Autowatch to 4 buttons one? :)

I guess you do realise that the change to the 4 button remote may require a change of system as well, don't you? As the extra 2 buttons need some electronic in the system to work with them.

So the question remains what system you actually have in the car right now.

maxaction, what if you dont have the 5 digit code? i didnt come with the car when i bought it...

We then need it in the workshop to be able to recover the PIN. The PIN is important for a number of things like programming new remotes etc, but it is also handy to have if or when you don't have the use of any remote control, as with the use of the PIN you can still go home :D

hey guys, I have an autowatch alarm with the two button remote and having some problems with the alarm being set off, like when i open a door with the key when the alarm is armed it doesn't set it off but only one door does this, also if the bonnet is pooped while armed the alarm isnt set off as well. has anyone else had this problem? also is there a way to test the glass breaker sensor is working (other than throwing a brick through the window)

thanks, ash

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
