Here's another good date, and I will probably go and have a look here and spend the day. Would be ideal for a BBQ/meet-up.

The details - GoodFellas Yanchep Picnic, Sunday 14 November 2010. They are meeting at Kingsway Shopping Centre, cnr Hepburn Avenue and Wanneroo Road, Kingsway from 10am. Depart at 10.30am for a leisurely drive North to Yanchep National Park and the historic Yanchep Inn. Meals and snacks available at the Inn or bring your own to enjoy in the park. Free Bouncy Castle for the kids, great prize giveaways in the lucky prize draw. Open to all pre 1978 hot rods, customs and American muscle cars. Sorry, but no dogs allowed in the National Park.

Last year the event drew 240 vehicles

I am not sugesting that we try to cruise with the rods, but it would be good to have a look at them. Entry to the park for us is the standard national park fee of $11 payable at the park gate. Well worth coming up though, you can still buy tickets in the prize draw and they have some great stuff to give away including - tool boxes, engine stand, trolley jacks, chroming vouchers, Cruzin magazine subscriptions, garage art (signs and cool clocks), air compressor, car care products and all sorts of other stuff - you get the idea!

I say that we organise a meeting point and cruise up to have a look.

How about everyone else?

Seeing as it seems that not many (if any) are going to show up at the meet point, I am going to make it 9:15am and leaving at 9:30am. I have a feeling ours will be the only car there!

Jim, I'll meet you at the Caltex. Iolanda (my wife) and Angelina (7yo daughter) will be coming.

I think that it will be a great day. Have to clean the car in the morning. If anyone else wants to meet up at Gateways, please make your intentions known, so that we can have an idea. Cheers!

Marmion ave from Whitfords shops to Yanchep is a great drive.

Suggest that we meet up at Hillarys car park, where we last had a BBQ in the rain one evening, on the foreshore. This is just south of the boat harbour and main car parks.

Say 10 am. Cruise to Yanchep to take in the rods, and have some lunch.

Lets see if we can get more than 3 cars.

How about everyone else?

Oh well NO TURNER-UPPERS!

But anyway we had fun. Went to the lagoon, until the wind got too strong, and then drove down the park. The entry was FREE! so that was good.

Lots of very cool cars. Some of them had a lot of love and engineering out into them.

Good drive too, we managed to miss all the speed cameras and the 6 cops in 3 cars playing hidey on Marmion Avenue.

It really was a perfect day with perfect weather.

Here is just a few of the 340 cars that went in it this year!

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
