I just searched the brisbane council website and they reckon they'll be doing demo laps and racing

i reckon i'll ask the people on the gate if the skylines are running before i pay, was a little disappointed last time, although still good to see some great cars running around

Yeh sorry about last year.....don't think Terry was planning on doing an exit into the walls. Was my fault on the R31......the cam cracked on a cool down lap which as you can expect pretty much stuffed the top part of the engine.

What I can confirm at the moment is that there is definitely 2 R32's running, The R31 blew a head gasket at Morgan Park and more than likely wont be running and the DR30 is definitely running(might even have some HP for this event....going on the Dyno today).

The rest of the Group A/C field looks pretty good as well.

C'mon, a headgasket isn't hard to replace. Hell, bring the car and the R31 club boys will fix it with duct tape and cable ties in the paddock :)

At least tell me the car will be there on display if its not going to race?

Sorry wont be there at all unless his changed his mind from when I spoke to him on Sunday....the head Gasket was only the start of the damage....also detonation in 5 and 6.......the new owner does have a spare motor but his had a fair bit on his plate in the last month or so so I am pretty sure he wont make it back to Sydney - Motor out - Motor in - Dyno - and back to Brisbane by next weekend to race it....logistic's alone would have him pretty buggered.....I have offered to help him even though I am still working on the DR30's prep but I am pretty sure he wants a break before Muscle Car.

      That's not completely truthful now is it? Any flex fuelled factory cars also had the option to run on steam.

      Yeah so I guess your mechanic would know turnaround better than me....but I would have thought you had access to same day or overnight rack rebuilds there....any big city here in Australia has that service.   There are a couple of o-rings and seals involved, I guess the risk is the part is specific not general. Other option is if you can have it on stands in your garage for a while, steering rack removal is pretty simple (2 mounting brackets, 2 ball joints (separate by undoing the nut to the top of the threads, put a pry bar between the steering arm and control arm to put pressure on it then medium force on the side of the ball joint or top of the nut with a hammer to break it free) and then the trickiest bit is the splines to the steering rack (not too bad to undo, one nut then it slides out, but mark it first so you can reassemble it straight)

      Looks like whiteline don't do springs any more, part# used to be 70191 from a search. Any spring for a 32/33 GTR should fit, just look for something factory not lowered/firmer unless that is your goal
