My point is 80k will get you plenty of cars like an evo or better, that are ready to go...And just as fast as alot of these money pit skylines

I dont know where 80k came from, but whats with the negative skyline talk?? Yes Evos are great cars but they are still a money pit. Spend 5-10k on a skyline and you will beat an EVO in a straight line no probs. Yes around a track might be a different story but how many of us regularly track our cars?

I think both are great in different ways. Spending heaps of cash on any 'non classic' type car is always going to be a money pit.

Not many of us will be able to afford genuine 11 second factory cars like an R35 GTR etc. Modifying a cheaper car is the only way we will ever be able to have something that fast. Yes you will loose money but so will owning a 200K supercar. Just have to start thinking about insurance and depreciation for it to become very expensive.

Not knocking either, just different paths. Both ways can work out well for different people but both will cost money.

Funny today i was talking to a builder friend. He was complaining that hes lost $100K on his Bently in only 4 years.

I reminded him that 30% over 4 years isnt actually that bad, and your only loosing the $100K if your selling it.. and he is not.

You could buy a new Camry/Maxima or whatever and loose that driving around the block.

Its just that his 30% is a f**kload more than all of us! He never thought of it like that.

Well im doing 251kws on mine and i was required to do this:

ECU: Either a Nistune, PFC or VIPEC i choose PFC

Exhaust: 3inch all the way with a highflow cat

Cooler: return flow cooler

Turbo: Stock highflow with a .63 rear housing

Ignition: Splitfire coilpacks unless your factory ones are still good

induction: stock air box with a highflow panel filter or pody

Air flow: z32 or a Q45 i choose a z32

injection: i choose to highflow but i would recommend proper ones like nismo,sard 550cc's or so

fuel pump if your one is about to die, change it to a BOCH 040

do all of these and you'l be doing some good power on standard internals.

250kw is all well and good but meaningless compared to what times it can pull...

Its no good saying you have 250kws if you get beaten by a standard rexy is it...

And Harey 80k was just a number I plucked outta my skull cause a guy showed my 80k worth of receipts for a GTST oneday and i was like :D is that it

Nothing beats building a car yourself, cause your more likely to do a proper job as opposed to someone just trying to get you in and out so they can do the next job...There is plenty of good workshops out there but money cant buy you love... :rofl2:

Look the point is with a bit of homework and mechanical knowhow there is no need to through a chequebook at a car like a skyline good results can be had for little outlay as geraus said, despite the it sounded i actually was in agreement with him..

But i am also curious as to what time that setup would get him on the track, be it drag or lap..

Ive seen 250kw skylines only pull mid 13s which is what a new WRX will do..although the skyline can be built for half the price if you dont throw a chequebook at it...Use the chequebook and your likely to spend as much as a new WRX

A 250rwkw that pulls mid 13s must have some serious traction/suspension issues. It would still run a good mph and smash a new WRX from a rolling start.

I think you just like saying chequebook :down:

Not everyone has the facilities to do work on their own car. My previous car I did all the work on but now I live in an apartment in the inner city and have nowhere to work on it so used my 'chequebook' to have a cooler fitted and a nistune. Have I wasted this money... I certainly dont think so.

      Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?

      Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!

      Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that

      Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
