ive sent them an email last night but still waiting for a reply so i thought id ask see if sau knows anything more about it

basice shit like

how much does it cost (i heard 8000 for a day)

does that price include every thing like marshalls, scrutineering etc?

how will they break up the day like 6x20 minute sessions or something

i have about 30 mates that would wanna go down but might get like 20 sau victoria ppl to come join as well just to get it cheaper for my mates and so others can join, make new friends etc

if anyone has any details let me know

md bday is jan but probs go down in mid - end feb so all kids are back at school, cheaper accomodation less popo etc

im waiting on a reply from the phillip island website about alot of stuff including price.

even if it cost 12000 and theres 30 ppl thats still only 400 each man i think thats pretty sweet.

hopefully i will have the reply by monday and we can elliminate speculation etc and start the planning and booking phase of this day.

thanks

The big question they will ask is have you insurance..( public liability )

And you will pay more than car clubs. And you will need to pay in full when you book.

expect to pay 16,000 for a weekend day...

Don't you need to be CAMS affiliated to be able to run something at Phillip Island?

some of us have them from participating in winton drift days, some ppl will have to get them though. its not really that difficult

cool ill confirm the price when i get a reply.

+ medical at least $2000

what the f**k for, ive been to winton, heatcote and sandown for track days and never had to get a medical test.

hhrm wonder what weekdays would cost - sounds expensive - but im sure you would have plenty of fun ;)

i dont care if we go week end or week day really, yeah definately be fun as long as those prices dont rise too much more lol.

Not to forget .

If 1 or more of your guests has a OFF and does some damage. You get the bill.

And they know how to charge .

All that PI supplies is the track for the basic hire, marshals, equipment, timing, medical, recovery, food, insurance, etc. are all extra expenses to be had on top of the basic hire of a facility. You will have to prove that you have a $20,000,000.00 public liability insurance policy that covers a motorsport event in place before you can hire the circuit (if they have a free weekend, and with the MotoGP and PI500 coming up they will not have many available)

If think its going to be a lot more work than you think and how are u going to cough up the 20k for the track.

Easier for you to just book all your mates into a track day.

People have no idea the work the behind the scenes guys do for free. I'm not one but am mates with most of the SAU Motorsport commitee. Even the fact you didn't get the Medics answer says your in over your head.

Plus I wouldn't imagine you'll get away with doing skids there. Its an International circuit.

Too much work for a day of fun...the work alone will outweigh the fun you get from it. Organise to fill up some spots at a track day you'll have more fun doing it this way.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
