hey all, dont ya hate problems

ive been extremely picking in trying to pick out a skyline

what i want - R34 - GTT - white - 4 Door - Manual - the colour isnt to much that i car about it just looks more unnoticable for my plans

but ive been told that a 4 doors GTT manual is rare to find is this true (hence why i can find pretty much only non turbo ones)

any one shed some light on this is this a hole bunch of cr@p or not so and im not looking hard enough, maybe if i just close my eyes and wish on a start one might turn up??

As far as I know they do exist, but they do seem rare to be a turbo AND manual AND 4 door, see so many 4 door non turbo autos like you are saying.. I guess just keep looking harder :D

But I have to ask, why the 4 door? a coupe looks more sporty and the leg room in a 4 door is no better to be honest.

a few reasons why i want a 4 door some matter more then others haha, like my missus wants me to get a 4 door for later in life for kids....but i plan on making a weapon nota childs toy lol, but 2 reasons mainly are like 4 years ago i remember seeing a 4 door with a aero kit with the middle car cut out and it looked so tasty that ive had craving for it. i even moved to aussie so i can persue it because NZ has only fully raped and molested r34s with heap of damage since its a dumping ground for imports, but the 2nd reason is a 2 door is exactly what you said a coupe is sporty, i want that non turbo look, ive been planning to make a sleeper planning.... i have a dairy with mods and whats more important and can hide illegal stuff till i get a cert for it all haha.......i only plan on doing it once.....twice.....maybe more cause i have the bug to modify and i couldnt not not (double negetive means positive :D) change it haha but thats my reasons

oh and also if i get a triptronic gear box is it easyish and cheapish to get a manual conversion (id have to pay some shop to do it cause if F**K it up ha) cause if thats the way i have to go i guess ill have to

First of all.... White manual R34 sedan aren't rare at all lol, just gotta look harder, there's even amount of GTT and GT sedans out there, but there might be more semi auto than manual, but again, look harder :D

As for manual conversion, it's not worth it, just be patient and find a manual, as conversion will cost you 3-4k and resale value = nothing better than semi auto.

okay so cool ill get a manual no matter what then thats sorted, now anyone know where there is a good chance of finding them as ive just been on carsales and looking on this from time to time

they are rare for sure!

i looked for a good 2 months but didn't find anything decent so i bought an r33 4 door instead!

original manual 4 door's GTT's are very rare, most of the manuals you will find have had a conversion.

to get a conversion done with an r34 box would be like $3-4k i'd imagine, you could probably do it a little cheaper by using an r33 box.

I own one (though in silver) - took me a while to find me a factory-manual that was also completely stock - but this was 3.5 years ago.

They're a hell of a lot more common now. Keep looking - perhaps interstate - or maybe import one?

Hey mate. ive got a R34 4-door. when i got it, it was tiptronic auto but i've converted it to manual and by far by anything the conversion went very smoothly alot of people cannot tell it was once an auto.

it is hard to find a manual GTT but there are still a few out there for sale its just a matter of finding the right one for you.

Space wise in the back is alright, not the best car for a family but its alot better than the coupe.

4 door + manual are harder to find regardless if it is a turbo or not....

You will find most 4 doors are auto....

For people saying there is not much difference with the 4 door and 2 door are wrong....

As much as I love the 2 door...

Leg room is slightly better in the 4 door, rear headroom in the 4 door is better and the boot is massive....

If budget isn't really a concern - I recommend getting an R34 GT4 sedan and eventually putting in an RB26.... D.I.Y GTR 4 door... well kind off.....

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
