Yeah, Hallam isn't TOO bad, but just means it's outta my way if I had to fill up before heading up towards Pakky :(

Another reason for my relucatance to embrace the 85 is I've got a 044 mounted in-tank and heard they die pretty quickly when using E85. Anyone running E85 through their 044 in-tank?

If your interested we managed to get a local injector company to source the walbro 416lph e85 intank pump! Just under $200. Will definitely flow more than the 044

+1 It looks like a nice pump, sealed electrical connections, massive sock. I may end up with one myself...

There is a united e85 pump in Frankston too apparently, and the Caltex ones on this site...

The 33 stays in Berwick most of the time but also keep it in Frankston occasionally too.

Only Uniteds I know of that stock around those two areas are Patto Lakes and Hallam :unsure:

it seems e85 can be a little troublesome starting up on cold mornings, which we have alot of lately, but if its not your daily ride to work its probably not an issue...

Did you need to upgrade fuel lines to be E85 compatible? My mechanics reckons I should but most of the guys running E85 are still using the stock lines.

Geeze, United need to update their website cos the Davey St one is only listed as stocking Premium 100. Sounds like E85 is the go for me then, as soon as I can figure out which top-feed injectors are gonna fit under the Plazmaman plenum lol

Nah u shouldn't need to for a while I don't think quite a few are running it without issues

Yeah, I didn't think so either. Mechanic reckons $250-$300 to get the fuel lines sorted, which isn't a huge amount in the grand scheme of things but that's $250-$300 which can go towards new top-feed injectors and a re-tune hehe

The new Walbro 400lph pump is e85 specific and flows a stupid amount of fuel at high pressure (220lph at 86psi), the power wires are sealed and it should fit fine in the skyline tank. I will be recommending these for the ethanol guys now, should cost around $200 with local warranty.

Yeah stock hard lines are fine, I would replace rubber hoses ( even Gates hose from repco is alcohol compatible I think its 20$ a meter and u need about 3 mtres tops..thats 60$ not 300$ :no:) and normal fuel filter buts that's all.. You don't NEED too but it can't hurt and doesn't cost much... Get some 1000cc injectors and your ready to roll

So you don't have too much fuel circulating and heating up when you don't need the flow. Anyone running ethanol needs the flow.

I need the one at San Remo to stock it for the PI track days, and a couple up the Hume so I can get to Sydney when I need to. Albury and Yass would do nicely thanks.

Someone mentioned they went to install the pumps at Eltham and found they were fiberglass tanks? I would have thought they would have to change the tank anyway, I guess they just put a liner in the steel ones.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small.     • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
