Anyone Interested In Training At Ptc? (gym Training)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

just wondering if anyone would be interested in training with Markos at PTC (www.ptcfrankston.com.au)

Trying to put together a day training group preferably on either a monday/wednesday/friday and possibly car-pooling involved as well.

I can't remember the costs off the top of my head exactly, but i think it's around $20 per person for a session. I'm looking at this stage at say once a week.

If you're interested in training 'properly' then there's really nowhere else better in Melbourne to go than to train with Markos @ PTC.

Happy to train with anyone, regardless of goals and ability level as well. I'm weak as a kitten at the moment :D

summer is coming peoples! :(

cheers,

daniel

well i'm pretty flexible for monday, wednesday or friday. I'm thinking around 11am sessions or there-abouts.

you still down near the end of defect st? dandenong rd end?

EDIT: seems you're in the 'wood now

Ah during the day could work (i thought you meant night)... i dont start till 2:30/3 or so.

Would mean i just have to re-jig shifts a bit but id still miss one day every 3 maybe 4 :P

When you need to know by?

Ye im collingwood, only 10mins down the road from where i was really tho

yeah, Frankston - the ultimate garage :)

what suburb area are ya sloutch?

ooo... maybe we can get Vu to commit to 1 day a week  - i shall sms

Ash, just seeing what the level of interest is then i'll hit Markos up with some times and more concrete details.

Just in case anyone has the wrong idea about PTC, it's the most functional and RELEVANT training you can get, period. Endurance athletes aside, for 95% of people Markos offers the type of training that is actually going to be of benefit to you! So it really is training for pretty much anyone and any goals, that goes for the girls as well.

He can also provide very sound nutritional advice, not like the utter tripe that you read in the mainstream media.

So if you're looking to lose fat, gain weight, get stronger, get fitter, 'tone up', fix your weak/sore back, etc etc - this is what you're after.

Do all the spin/pump/tap classes if that's fun for you, but if you're actually looking to get some lasting and meaningful results, you have to learn to train and eat properly. You will not find this at commercial gyms.

Someone i know has a Virgin/Bourke M/Ship, why do you ask?

Apparently its pretty good, but then that was when it first opened and they had super cheap deals goin.

I use fitness first either @ melb central or vic gardens depending on what im upto

Just something out of the current topic. Trying to find gym partners :D

Have been a member there since the start of the year but haven't been maximizing the gym lately due to my laziness. :P

I do need a training partner... depending on what times you'd be free etc i could change gyms.

depends on cost and stuff, i'll look into it - once i start though, no lazy business. 3 day min/week (prefer 4) :P

PTC is a great gym, http://ptcfrankston.com/

Unfortunately I work long hours during the week but I'm down there most Satuday's.

Markos is over in the USA this week but will be back very shortly, the gym is still open.

$20 / session is the standard rate, on Saturdays its open from 10AM To 2PM, there is no real structure for a Saturday session and you stay as long as you want.

Are you serious about this Ash? LOL!

Ye?

I need to get back into hitting the gym, and as im lazy... Getting myself there is a mission.

If i have someone to go with, its far more motivating and one can push a lot harder etc.

Anything less then this and you wont really get any results....

I would suggest the guys that have not done this before/gone to gym in over a year hit the gym hard.

This is because your body will be in shock and the first 6-8 weeks of training will give you the biggest results - ie loose fat/build muscle fast.

As a rule of thumb, this is normally what alot of people will say in regards to number of days of training:

1 - Not really worth it

2 - Maintain what you got/slight results

3 - Good results

4 - Great results

5+ if your strength training, really good for cutting (loosing fat and showing muscle lines) and getting stronger,

for bulking (putting on muscle with the least amount of fat possible), most blokes would stop at 5.

gl with the training

I've been on/off, so nothing majorly regular.

So i will indeed hit it massively hard as i know all about that type of stuff, it's just the motivation factor to do it im lacking in - knowledge wise im all sorted :D

lol,

yeh motivation can be hard in winter, i just get really warm inside the house ( heater on full) until i am just about sweating so it is unpleasant, meanwhile I sit on sau and listen to some good music, within 30 mins im ready to go, which is what I am about to do now :D

the bad part about knowing the info is when you go "I could go to gym and work those lats and obliques, or I could sit on the couch and watch tv" you know how bad the effects are going to be.

If any of you guys are around Ringwood area happy to train with someone, I go 3 times a week without fail, 4 if i can manage it with uni/work.

Adam

Once you get some visually noticeable results you won't need to try and find motivation - fear of losing what you've earned will be motivation enough...just ask any of the junkies in the Wasteland gym thread! After that it just becomes habit like getting up to go to work each day...

don't think i was quite clear enough

i have a gym membership, but i'd still like to train with Markos at least once a week. So even if you have a membership, you'll still benefit a lot from training with others (always a good thing) and training directly with a very knowledgeable person, in a way that can sometimes be difficult at a commercial gym.

in terms of number of times per week you can train the answer is.... as many as you like if you can eat/sleep enough. Very few people will have those two things nailed, but really, there's nothing stopping you from training as much as want (if your eating and rest time is spot on)

and no, this won't be a "lets work our lats and obliques" training group- it'll be proper training.
