Got a quote from Castle Hill Exhaust in Sydney for supplying and fitting Xforce MP02 muffler onto my R34GTT to replace my current monster canon which is too loud for me. I was quoted $350 and have heard many good things about them.

There will be some pipework from the diff because my canon is angled and the new bit of piping will be 3" and not 3.5" like my existing (from diff back only, the rest is 3"). And the exhaust will be straight of course.

Has anyone used this muffler and what are their views? Quietness/drone etc; Or should I go the twin tip version MP01?

What do you people say about the price, anywhere else cheaper for a reasonable job?

have looked at Lukey mufflers, they seem to only have the middle mufflers, not the rear muffler like MP01?

cheers

RON

I had the twin outlet Xforce on the stagea with a reasonable mid muffler. I am a bit of a fan of the sound of that combo. (3" exhaust)

Mrs Wolv wanted the car dead quiet so the rear muffler was replaced with a monster custom made straight through. From memory it is 18"x12"x8" the largest thing we could fit in.

It is very very quiet now.

Thanks guys, my mind is made up - Xforce MP02-single tip is going in soon, middle muffler and everything else stays as is except the 3.5" pipe after the diff (dunno why the previous owner put that on when everything else is 3"), this pipe will now become 3", will keep you all posted on the results next week..

Also lookin for some cheap used Jap wheels only, drift/deep dish/aggressive style with low offset - theres Otomoto in North Parramatta, they got cool stuff but currently not what I want, does anyone know of other places in Sydney????

cheers RON

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
