aw/rw = same shit anyway.

Not really but to certain extend yes.

There's someone I know of in Brisbane that dyno-ed his 32 GTR on rwd and awd mode the same day on the same dyno. The difference in reading is around 10kW. But the difference isnt THAT great and definately not worth the extra money for awd dyno tuning.

Thats prob why Racepace (Working on mostly GTRs) have only a rwd dyno instead of awd...makes sense...i always wondered why dont they have a awd dyno when all the GTRs are 4wd...

10kw is the same shit to me :P

Its been proven by a number of people with over 400rwkw/awkw that any differences are so negligebile its not worth splitting hairs over.

This is with a factory transfer case etc.

With a modified transfer case, its a different story but most punters are not in that category

Hi Guys,

Wanted to know that how much kW can you get on standard turbo and engine, but with below mods :

- Exhaust (Highflow)

- PowerFC

- Cam Gears

- Bleed Valve

Any idea anyone??? Car is GTR33....

Got 264.6rwkW after the above mods!!!!!

very impressed......

RPM cam gears supplied by racepace....

14psi boost and chris from racepace tuned it.....

nice....did the cam gears make much different? i am thinking of getting them too...but not sure of their exact use on the car yet...still due to researching that...lol

it makes difference.....

car accelerates and takes off faster than usual......

surely you have to get it dialed in once you fit it.....

ask chris at racepace....he'll let you know.....

thought it did make difference in response....but when i am rebuilding my engine to hold more power ill be putting the HKS variable cam in which come with cam gears too i think...so thats when i am planning to put them in...but still need to look around for the best combo i can use to make my baby "fly"...lol.. :P

You do know that HKS V-Cam is $5000 on its own, just for the variable timing.

Thats not including the 8-10k for the rebuild and all the rest :woot:

HAHAHA!!! YUP :P itll be done one day...if i get hands on a blown up RB engine to practise on..i might do it myself with my machanics guidance otherwise i am planning to spend around the 20k mark on the engine for my car to pull SAFE 400+awkw...might even make it a bigger block..but will do as my machanic instructs...then work on suspension and make is a nice quick track car..(my dream) :P

There was a test done with VCAM on/off lap times, didnt make much of a difference. But the test car already put out 650HP irregardless, so i guess the argument to have one is marginal

Yes i did watch that video when i was researching about the combo of mods i should do on the car...but the guy who tested it and the comparision video did show a VERY quick response time and the engine was able to rev much quickly with the Vcam on...thats why i am PLANNING to get that done too...but its still in the planning mode...when the time comes for me to do it, new things might arrive that might interest me...lol..

Try it on a different Dyno and you might get the same result, i wouldn't worry about that 20 odd kw differ.

+1...all dyno does give out different readings..so gives more others give less...if the difference is around 20 kw...its more likely both the cars are pretty equal in power...

and peak rwkw is a single figure at any one time

it hardly explains the cars acceleration and how it performs on the street

if johnny where you said it makes 232rwkw and the other makes 264kw

it could be dyno differences, how it is strapped down, air temp correction etc

as long as it feels quicker on the street its all good

the only comparison that is useful is your same car on the same dyno each time

when you do mods, you check before and after, as long as the power goes up, all good

its only if you add mods and get no gain then you need to check it

id perfer to make less rwkw (vs higher for bragging rights) and have quicker times

:) +1...spot on...numbers mean nothing as long as you can get the times better...and its only 20 odd kw diff...so nothing really to stress about...

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
