No its isn't you just cant use psn which was always going to be the case. The hack is freely available on the net you just buy one of the many usb boards and flash it. I did works great. Hell you can even load the crack from an android phone or a ti-84 calculator lol.

Ye now the hardware is out there it'll mass clone and you'll never be able to stop it.

To expect to use online with a crack, is silly anyway.

Friend of mine who mods concoles is gearing up i believe ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Got one last week, works great so far, for downloaded games there is now an app you put on the ps3 then transfer straight from your pc to the internal hdd of your ps3, other legit games you just rip from the disc straight to your ps3.

One problem is that play tv wont work while the usb stick is working.

Its not just sony who are trying to block this, apparently F1 2010 will not work with firmware older than 4.42 when it comes out, no doubt gt5 will be the same, but also by then they will have it working with those firmwares anyway.

3 points tho, 1 you won't get one that is plug and play, Sony took them to court and had them made illegal, however there is software readily available to program them. 2 because of there popularity most places will be out of stock. 3 if you updated your firmware to 3.42 they won't work.

True that. My idiot mate had played Resident Evil 5 on his 360 whilst online before the game was officially released. Ass raped nicely... well, just banned really lol

haha my friends played mw2 before release date. had a nice game with the guys at infinity ward... till his console got banned

$29us delivered and upgraded, and f1 2010 works on 3.41 to as i played it today, just had a few controller issues but sorted out now with that game :-)

did you buy one?

They are now illegal in aus so they may not send them here.

no, i have the teensy board when they first came out. And yeah i know they are illegal in australia but im pretty sure you can get it past customs pretty easy...

It says on there page that they ship world wide but when ozmods got there first batch of maximus's in customs held them for inspection, might just have been that they were involved in the court case.

i also think there is a bit of a difference between 1 person getting one and a whole shipment coming in for sale.

would be interesting to know if it's one of those silly laws where it's illegal to sell or use the item in australia but not illegal to own.

yeah i was thinking the same thing, 1 seems alot easier than 100 to go through customs...

I am starting to miss playing online though now, might have to buy another ps3 now for online gaming :-(

^ The ps3 mod is a plug and play feature, basically remove the usb stick and you don't have the mod and your ps3 acts as normal.

I'm waiting for my board to come in from my supplier, I'll be distributing them for cost price once I build the first few. I'll keep you guys up to date.

yeah but you cant play online and be jail broken due to the firmware only working on 3.41 and lower... you need to be on the most recent sony firmware for online... and there is no way to downgrade your firmware if your on 3.42 or 3.5.

and medal of honour is the first game that wont work on jailbroken ps3's due to requiring version 3.42 or higher

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
