Ok have spoken to Duncan with the R35 and he is happy to join the photoshoot, got a PM back from GTR32X no longer owns his Blue R34 so have lined up Steven from Prestige Motorsport with his Blue R34 V spec II.

So now Kory and Matt what dates suit you guys and best time to take the photos in that area?

Best time to meet would be around 5 to meet up. That way it's no rush and we'll get awesome evening light and a chance to chill out instead of at a frantic pace.

I live on the northern beaches, work mon-fri and don't finish until 530 so by the time i got out there during the week it would be too late.

A saturday or sunday would suit me, i know you guys do a lot of track work etc... so propose a date and i'm sure i'll be free. As long as everyone can attend it should be great!

I'm sure Eric (Pezhead) will do some video on the day as well. Maybe a bit of BTS.

Weekends suits me too, I'm away the weekend of the 22nd but available this weekend or the last weekend of the month.

This is Kory's gig though, so if it isn't the weekend of the 22nd I'll try to work around everyone. If we're getting some twilight shots we might be able to light paint a couple cars too? Will depends on time though.

I like the idea of chilled session. coffee, a bite to eat and some laughs between locations could be a plan.

I'm thinking the last weekend of the month may suit everyone best, as it gives people time to accomodate it into there schedule?

Late evening light is fully intended for light painting Matt! Derrrrrrrrr hahaha. We can try a 5 car light paint and combine 11ty bajillion images. Along with single cars also.

I've got a fair few shots in my head i want to try as well as some individual shots also.

If only i had my rig :ninja:

BTW - If we do it somewhere that has a really large area, i'm thinking of lining all the cars up in order and doing a rolling shot as well as a staggered rolling shot.

Eastern Creek carpark would be great/wide streets somewhere?

I've got half a rig, not finished it yet though. need a couple more things and longer arm. rig shots would be the ace. Oh well, need to keep something special til next year :P

I have a few shots in my head too, mainly group. Need to find out what time the gates close at the creek on a weekend. I have a good rolling shot road too.

I'm happy with the last weekend of month. lock me in, eddie.

Awesome, well the rolling shot is what i'm keen for as i have it in my head, though impossible without a rig, will still look awesome, providing how far i can hang out the door lol.

Group shots will look great too. Especially if they are light painted. We'll aim for a cliche tail lights shot also (staggered grouping), front on shot, side angle shot and then creative light painting time is what i have in mind.

Sounds like a plan.

Let us know guys!

Awesome! I know what Erics car looks like and your red 32GTR, what does Duncan and Steven's cars look like? If they are dumped and on there ass it would help letting us know, that way we know what kind of locations are accessible incase of speedhumps/ditches etc...

Last thing i would want is broken carbon fibre lips and diffusers everywhere.

Here's a image of Steven Blue R34 all stock V specII Nur will get the number plate mounted on the car in the correct spot, and one of Duncan's R35 will have no stickers on the car at the photo shoot.

Hey Brian, thanks for the PM. Yeah I'm excited to be part of this. I'll block out the dates just let me know when. And I can do some behind the scenes video. Timelapse would look awesome.

Ok looks like we can all make that weekend, now Sat or Sunday arvo? what suits people the best.

Sure - You can come Sean

I was thinking saturday arvo? I believe gates would be open longer on saturday than sunday am i correct? I can contact John who's the operations manager for WSID but unsure if that would help?

Also need to check what events are on that day also.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
