your opinion is shit, one of my best mates is a hwy patrolman and he is the nicest bloke you will ever meet, unless you piss him off.

I have underlined my point. Just because you have a pretty badge and a uniform makes them think they can rule over the rest of us. Why people still defend highway patrol boggles the mind.

Um...they are police officers....its what they do...ie their job is to enforce the law.

Police officers i love. Highway patrol is my problem. They arnt certified for "real police work" because they dont have the qualifications or the capacity to fulfill the roles of a normal police officer.

scummy cops.....if every highway patrol cop lost their job they would all be unemployed because A) they are too dumb to do anything else B) wont make it past the interview for any other job because the employer will see what true ass bags they r.

My 2 cents (plz dont flame) my opinion on highway patrol.

+2

They start out as normal cops you douche

Ye and dont cut it.....

From what i know a police officer must do general duties before they choose their sort of "major", when this promotion time comes they are given offers to serve as a detective etc.... But depending on their past performance of a junior their options are limited. Highway patrol is next to police accounting from what ive been told =P

You're f**king kidding me.

I thought you'd realised that being an idiot on a public forum isn't a great idea to do. Obviously not.

Highway Patrol are trained to be dickheads to people like you, and this is from an undercover officer's mouth (not mine). I was pulled over by one a while ago and had a bit of a chat (friendly too, because I was polite even though I was in the wrong) and was saying how HP have a bad rep in the car scene, and was told they're told to be like that, to catch out people who fire back. That is all. Next time you get pulled over, throw away your hatred for a second, be polite and helpful, and watch their tone change.

Requesting a lock. PLEASE.

bet you $100 that the fine will be given regardless

From what I know, the police officer must follow you for a minimum distance before being able to (gu)estimate your speed and book you. My brother received such a fine a few weeks ago on Victoria Rd and the officer told him that he had followed him for one km.

As has been said countless times before; if you have a legal issue, ask a lawyer for advice.

It seems that everyone has a mate who has "been let off a fine" for x y and z reason.

In many cases it is crap/ irrelevant/ exaggerated/ impossible.

The offer i made to the OP earlier in the thread still stands... and applies to anyone else for that matter!

:-)

Some of the comments in this thread are an embarassment to SAU. Some of you need to grow up.

Agreed! Sorry PJ, thread locked due to a lack of maturity from a few people posting in this thread.

Grow up, jawgry and DAS KAMU. If THIS were an attitude test, you would have failed dismally!

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
