Remove Handbrake

guys I've taken my centre console off to replace my handbrake as I broke the ratchet... how do I remove the thread that sits in the cable and the silver bit that connects to where the wire goes down lower I will post a pic and show you as I don't know what it's called..

in the middle of it now and can't work it out
