Was a good day for our SAU boys.

Dave smashed them in Over 2L IP,,,top qual by a staggering 2.3 seconds and almost the same in race 1,,,I'm thinking he backed off though as he was creaming them. Nice drive mate,,,yes we watch you tiger. The little Starlet is one sexy car.

Duncan's day was as far as I'm concerned great. Qual was not that great,,,11th is probably his worst while I've been involved. But 11th to 7th in race one was bloody great!!!. I had a very stress free day for once,,,shit I only had to change wheels,,,do my usual checks and not much else. Temps were all good and the clutch actually worked and still is. Why the sky opened up big time an hour after his race was my only annoyance. I've made my list of to-do's.

Bring on Tomorrow

Cheers

Is first on the list go to church to ask for divine intervention, or do a rain dance Neily?!

Shame D had a problem with the boost in quali- would have been interesting to see what would have happened if he'd been a bit further up in the mix.

Thanks for your managing stuff as always Neily!

uncle dunc didnt blow up??

No Duncy didn't blow up sweety,,,. Where were you???. Is your car permanently parked where it is??? you homo.

The rude West guys in "Sports & Racing" may have to re-evaluate their parking arrangments tomorrow,,,but thats another story.

Cheers

Neil.

Ahhhh Team West- my new favourite racing friends.

Time for name & shame in the pits. These blokes tried to get us to move because they had *lots* of race cars coming and needed more space. Turns out their third *race car* was actually one of the drivers' utes. And they wanted more open space so their bonnets could sunbake.

JUST NOT RACING on a weekend at EC where the field is over capacity, and every square of space should be used to house racing cars ya dickheads!

Made it kinda fun to loudly call their cars *those radical thingies* at every opportunity.

And can't believe we forgot to tell them they'd left lots of gear out when it started to piss down...

meh. its the biggest state race meet ever, so no wonder there are some people who think they are more special than everyone else. doesn't worry me, I will focus on what I need to do.

it was OK today, very poor qualifying for me (11th) proving how damn quick production cars are going these days. For context, the Pro-duct emo Xs took the production car lap record easily....and even beat the improved production lap record. i just need $100k +$5k per round for tyres (actually they had 12 new ones waiting just for this round) and I will be in one in a flash

anyway, I made a few spots during the race which was good, finished 7th. I ran medium tyres as a test but they were not a winner....3 out of 6 laps and they were gooooone.....very poor grip once they overheated. they will be no good for the 8 and 10 lap races tomorrow so I am back to the previous set.

fingers crossed for tomorrow. If anyone wants to head out to eastern creek, entry is free (I guess ARDC figured they made enough money from the record entrant numbers). Also this round will be televised on Speed channel in the next month or 3.

well that was a hell of a day today.

I've done some damp track laps before, but this was racing in the pissing down raining. I learned a lot, went 7 seconds faster in race 3 than my best in race 2.

overall results were lousy, 8th and 9th, but it was brilliant fun. the car was rubbish in the wet...the commodores were clearly quicker. not sure if it was just tyres or something more, but I was nowhere.

evil_chris...working oni the vids now. nothing from race 2 because the whole damn car was fogged up, the camera saw the same as me. SFA. turns out shampoo is great for stopping windows fogging up.

thanks to Neil and Kel for persevering with helping out in rubbish conditions all weekend

yeah big one with Tyrell on the last lap exit of turn 3. nasty.

but actually considering it was the last round, and everyone was racing for sheep stations, everyone was amazingly well behaved.

youtube is going up now

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
