i had something similar when i got my car

i got it from VICTORIA and when they transfered the information to the RTA the year was incorect

had to get a blue slip and then went to RTA and the laidy there made some calls and filled up some paperwork for me then waited like a week for the paperwork to be finalised for the date to be changed to the corect one

When I had to get my car registered in NSW because I bought it from VIC, the lady who served me at the RTA entered most (if not all) of the information off the Engineering Certificate and didn't blink twice.

Little bit of advise for future keep: If you have to get an engineering certificate with your blue slip, ensure the engineer has made everything and entirely accurate on the certificate he gives you. Even if he makes a mistake, it would be easy to go back and ask him to correct and reprint another copy to take with you to the RTA. The channels you have to go through with the RTA sometimes are a joke, so its always best to get it right the first time.

I noticed the engineer put SED (Sedan) down on my certificate as the car type, where I think it's meant to be Coupe. So that's what ended up on my registration.

That kind of detail didn't bother me so I just went with what I was given. However any other detail like Odo, year, model, etc I can imagine would be rather annoying.

Most likely entered the year of compliance as the year of manufacture. Happened to my old S13, advantage was that i didnt need to get a pink slip for the 1st 3 years of ownership. Didn't have any issues with rego transfer etc. Best to speak to the RTA

Thank You for your feedback guys... Much appreciated

Will it affect ones insurance if their car is registered under a 07 model where it actually is a 93 ? Would you still be OK to claim incase of any accident

not sure i would get that rectified ASAP and call your insurer and ask if they will cover as they need to have the corect details in their system otherwise you might end up with the insurer saing sorry you are meant to have a 2007 car not a 1993 car

think of it this way 2007 car will have alot more safety features than a 93 car and will be looked at diferently by insurer both cost wise and safety rating

minimum i would do is make sure the insurance company have the corect details ie 1993 model

The thing with imports is - that if the car was complied in 2007, then according to the government it was build in 2007.

Hence the build tags with complicance dates on it, because the car was built in 07 to comply with the Aussie standards.

RAWS workshops are a car manufacturer, if you go by the wording in the legislation.

It is normally ignored, but it might explain why the rego has the 07 manufacture date.

    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
    • You'd really have to pull it apart further to know, it least you can be confident that the one heading to the back is not connected any more. There was once a ground on the shifter seal mount too, your head unit issue could be that simple
    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
