The NSW RTA is proposing changes to the current registration system for modified vehicles. These changes will mean that the majority of modified vehicles will be classified as individually constructed and will have to comply with the ADR's current on the day that it goes for registration. Please follow the link below and sign the petition to assist us in taking the fight to the NSW Transport Minister.

Lifted this off another forum. Would be worth spreading around to whatever forums you guys go to. Under this law it would make it near impossible to modify and older vehicle.

A car should comply with ADRs if it wants to be registered, but this would require a car from the 80s to comply with 2010 ADRs to be considered 'roadworthy'.

signing this petition will only give them numbers of how many people have modified cars, it wont actually change their minds. i was listening to the process of how a bill is passed. at no point do they say "are there any petitions against this legislation?". they read the bill and its positive effects, what it intends to do and as soon as they say "emissions this, emissions that", it will get passed. dont forget these are people who get driven around and/or have a car that is no more than 1 year old.

what you SHOULD do is get an engineers certificate for a modified car that fits in this category before this is passed, because if this bit of legislation comes in, the next step is to make it harder for older cars to obtain one.

Signing does help... especially when it comes close to state elections and what not and number matter.

The gaming R18+ classification is finally going to be actioned after parliament acknowledged a petition.

So, where are the proposed rule changes listed? There's no link to where the details are in the petition, and I'd personally like to see them to see what we're up against.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
