apparently its like 6 points for eating or drinking while driving.

That's a bloody outrage. :) That's the equivalent of 2 excessive noise fines on the old scale. The only reason you notice this is that it effects you. You would be amazed what sort of crazy laws get passed. Back when I was involved with Amnesty international you'd hear of both the major parties passing all sorts of laws that gave police and border control greater powers many of them being totally unjustified. The major parties would gag debate on the topic, and then the mainstream media wouldn't run with it. makes you wonder.

lol - it would be..

yeah, i was just thinking of buying a car for around $1000 that can get me around when i don't want to drive the skyline, and if i'm driving to the coast a few days a week. Will also come in handy when its at the panel shop being made to look sex again.

I've got a little more debt to go before I start looking for a cheap car. But after I got to drive an old subaru around the other night (soft suspension can drive over speedbumps at 30kph. Try doing that in a skyline) I really want something to drive to the shops or leave parked wherever for extended periods of time.

yeah.. sometimes its a real hassle driving the liner.. just worried some shit is going to happen to it all the time.. speed bumps, fools who can't drive, etc.

Ends up saving you money in the end really. By the time you look at the petrol costs, general wear and tear on the skyline, and everything else over a year or so, it doesn't really cost you much.

Hi James,

I think I left a forum page open at work yesterday when i locked my workstation, so it prolly seems like I'm logged in 24 hours a day.

Did you catch up with JL on the highway last night?

lol.. thats why i created this thread :D 'cause that one was degrading into a wasteland anyhow.. But you can go dig it if you like mindflux.

What did you do to your car Gordon?

door + truck.. months ago, i just haven't had a chance to get it painted as I've been too poor. But things are looking up so will get it done in a couple of weeks.

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
