ben: seems a little steep for a non turbo GTS

my mate got a 1994 (r33) GTS4: 10 cd stacker, all the usual skyline bits plus the 4WD and ABS off the GTR.. 6 months rego, safety certificate, and 77,000km (very genuine). This thing was almost as clean as it came out of the factory.. 13,900 he paid just on the weekend.

most mods aren't worth much in the end price.

Yeh i can only use 1 cam gear anyway, the vct gear on the inlet side i can't change. i'd like to do tyres then exhaust then suspension/chassis setup.

front and rear sway bar can do wonders to your handling.

i recommended Bilstein with Kings for your suspension. I had a quote b4 and its about 1.5k all up.

step by step Nick... that's how you get there.

just before i leave.. here is the one my mate just bought as a reference ben..

NISSAN SKYLINE GTS-4 1994, Gunmetal Grey, Coupe, 79000kms, 5sp, non turbo, 4WD, ABS, power everything, 10 stacker CD, 10/04 rego, immaculate

that was from the trading post..there was another for $12k, but that sold on friday..

Mildura was actually where i bought my car actually.. private sale..

there is an airport there.. from melb it was i think $80 trip one-way.. i flew there and drove hte R33 back to melb.. i still remember that really well even though it was a while ago now.

Yeh thats the best way i guess, then you can get used to each little thing you do to the car, example would be servicing the car. Can feel the difference with all the little things like brakes, engine and stuff like that. i'm thinking of the whiteline sway bars after my exhaust.....

things to do:

1. Tyres

2. Exhaust

3. Sway bars

that car was literally the cleanest GTS (or gts-t for that matter) i have ever seen..

even the floor mats looked not even used.. no scuffs even on the door panels.. amazing..

so there are plenty of good cars out there for around $12-13k if you look

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
