Oil Pressure

Hey guys. i bought my R34 gt about 3 months ago. Ive done about 4,000 km's and I haven't touched the oil yet. The oil pressure gauge goes up to 8 kg/cm (or whatever it is), before the car gets warm.

I have cheaked the oil level, and its fine.

can anyone please help me.

This is normal - when the oil is cold and thicker you have much more oil pressure and then as the oil heats up it becomes thinner and the pressure level drops.

I normally wait until the oil pressure starts to drop back to the normal level before I drive away or if I do drive I take it easy until the pressure comes down to the normal level.

Also, don't rely on the stock gauge, its a piece of shit. Inaccurate and unreliable.

normal. and dont wait for it to drop before driving, just dont thrash it until the pressure drops down a bit as that means your oil has warmed up to operating temp

ok, thanks guys. I just did a trip from melbourne to byron bay last week, and the car made it, Struggled abit, but made it.

cant say much for the locusts though.
