hey guys been having another issue with the 32 alternator has some issuse if you could help that would be awsome

i first noticed it monday last week when i left a servo i started the car anbd noticed my dash istruments and stereo not working when the car started then just thought a fuse was gone straight away and thought nothing off it but when i started driving everything just started working at about 50 kmh which i then thought was alternator so i pulled over and pulled and pulled the earth cable and the car died so that confirmed what i thought so i bought one from nizzpro and the same thing the car seems to run a bit better but if the earth gets disconnected it dies which is just unlucky or its something to do with charge wire so i tried disconneting the charge wire but still same thing am i just unlucky and have 2 alternators with brushes worn out or could there be something else? also how do you get the brushes out i split the original alternator that was on the car and found them but cant get them out

Some alternators require a new regulator which contains the new brushes in it and you just replace the whole thing. Otherwise they are usually soldered at the back or just off to the side.

As for the earth lead that you were pulling where abouts is the lead coming from and going to.

Any problems with the alternator usually brings on the battery light on your dash. have a close look at the dash when the car is running as the lights could be coming on dull which indicates that some diodes are blown.

But that being said the problem should have been fixed when the alternator is replace. it is very uncommon to get a new alternator that is faulty.

I would be looking at cleaning the earth lead terminals and where they bolt on. Make sure that all the connections are tight. You mentioned that the car died when you were playing with the earth lead so I would be focusing on that more than your alternator

I agree with changing your earth. I've got 2 earths coming off my alternator. stock + larger gauge wire. My battery voltage went from 13.4 to 14..2 just by doing that and the car starts off the first click now.

You just run a wire from the housing of the alternator to your chassis. Easy done.
