Because a car racing game where the developer release a way to start races when you're not there must be jam packed with racing excitement.

never had this issue...why sign up for a race, if your not gonna be there?? and i love the way you can get a group of friends together and everyone can just screw around on the track while waiting for the others to show up (people are always late)

i think its called anticipation, hence why the thread was started. im pretty sure the initial release was always gonna be around this time anyways (thats what i heard from day one of the PS being released) and it was always said it wasnt going to be released till crazy eccentric Japanese developer guy was happy with it. people just got impatient and started complaining..

and there were what 3 forza's in that time?? quantity over quality, the xbox way

ahahaha what do you mean?

given that GT5 was GT4 with a new set of shoes on (seriously most of the cars looked like straight ports), I fail to see WHERE these extra years of development went. I was expecting something mindblowing, I got GT4 with cars that refuse to turn, with graphics on par with Forza 2.

Delusional.

Forza 2005, Forza 2 2007, Forza 3 2009. Two years is quantity over quality? I think that's just being able to finish a project.

Some of the BS I have seen people spout about Forza 3 it's just mind dumbing, either they have such a huge hardon for GT5 it gets in the way of them playing Forza 3 or they've just never played it.

In an interview with some game reviewer company. One GT5 developer said that GT5 was pushed back due to other projects (eg. GT 5 Prologue & PSP GT5).. So i don't think it was all about making this awesome game.. That was prob alot of rumour due to how long it was taking and alot of PS3 users bought the console mainly for GT5

And what do you mean the xbox way? The same developer of games make the PS3 ones also.. Your argument for why xbox is shit is invalid. They are both good at being consoles.. But quality over quantity? Is that why alot of games have better quality on xbox? eg. COD Black Ops

ahahaha what do you mean?

Most people (especially xbox or pc fans or just gt haters) get completely messed up when calculating how long it took to make gt5. They assume that gt5 went into production the moment gt4 was finished. They also forget that there were 3 mini gt5 games released before gt5 plus gt for psp. They also ignore the fact that the physics engine from gt5 prologue was scrapped and wasn't used in gt5. And finally, gt5 only had 2 official release date delays. The first from march to November then the few week delay then. Any other 'delay' was purely off rumoured release dates. If i start a rumour saying that forza 4 is coming out tomorrow then if or when it comes out i can rant on about how delayed it has been like all the forza fans do about gt5.

Does anyone remember the old nissan patrol ads with the old guy saying "i've always been a cruiser man". Well that is what the ps3 vs xbox or gt5 vs forza debate will always be like (with either side being the grumpy old cruiser owner who is refusing to acknowledge any good points about the other console/game).

Despite polyphony digital bringing out other gt games between gt4 and gt5, it still took too long.

Look at mgs for instance. They brought out 3 games and mgs4 still came out on schedule mid 2008. Same goes for gow3; who started from scratch and after a team structure change also. Both games are awesome and it is VERY obvious that a lot of work went into them. Gt5 otoh isn't as obvious as one would think.

Btw, I'm not bagging gt5, I like the game... I was just expecting a LOT more than a polished gt4 with some weather effects.

I don't think either console is shit.. They are both good for playing games. Saying PS3 or Xobx is shit by comparing Farza and GT5 is stupid. That's like watching a DVD movie and not enjoying it. Then turn around saying the DVD player is shit because of that..

Haters gonna hate

i never said forza or xbox are shit (and if i did, twas only to get a rise)....i just preffer the PS3 and GT5......played em both and all. love all forms of gaming, be it console or PC.

just love seeing you guys fire up about it. why do you care so much???

    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
