Hi Guys

Have recently been trying to source a polyurethene Gearbox (manual) mount for my R33, I had a friend who bought one a while ago, I remember him showing me (probably about 2 years ago or around abouts). Ive talked to him about it and he swears he bought it off these forums along with a solid steering spacer (I think it was) and some drift pineapples. These parts were for his R32 but I cant seem to find where on here he got them from, nor can I find much anywhere else at all, have searched the forums, google and ebay and all I can find is a UAS Polyurethane one and the Nismo ones, Both over $200, alot more then he payed for his gearbox mout

I've also got a slightly worn D bush/mount for my front sway bar, and these are similar, the only place ive been able to find one is from the UK, which will do if I cant find them anywhere else. But i was wondering if anyone else has bought something maybe designed for a different car that is the same as the skyline sway bar bushes. I might end up pulling a bush off and taking it into pedders to try and match it but if anyone else has found a substitute or knows where I can get one it would make things alot easier.

I have found this on whiteline plus:

Sway bar Mount Front

but I measured my sway bar and it appears to be 22mm? Perhaps Ive measured the sway bar wrong, does anyone know if its 22mm or 20mm?

but anyway, I dont live near a Whiteline Plus stockist anyway so might be useless anyway

Any help would be appreciated

Car: 1994 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-t Manual

Thanks

Callan

the solid sterring mount is available through gktech, i purchased one for 26beans from memory,i think he may do the gearbox mount also. KTS also do the mounts, as for the bushes possibly superpro through fulcrum?

Not after the steering spacer lol was just using it as extra info in case anyone remembered the trader on here :P But Thanks for that, Ill give GKTech an email, nothing on the webpage by the looks at it but cant hurt to ask.

Does KTS have a website? I havent heard of them before

And I'll see what I can find out of Fulcrum

Thanks for those suggestions, might be finally getting somewhere

Open to other suggestions as well though

Thanks

Callan

i think japaneseimportspares.com.au have kts gear if not Danny Vahoumis at japaneseperformancecentre.com.au might have some stuff, he had KTS last time i was in there. GKTech have a dealer page on nissansilvia.com also

Sweet

Thanks mate

I found that super pro make sway bar bushes for the front and rear, you just have to tell them your sway bar size, so theres a win there

Will check out those other sites you mentioned

Thanks again for that :)

hi mate, got a urethane gearbox mount assembly for sale in good condition

this came off an R33 so its a direct bolt on, pm me if you're interested

btw i dont think steering spacer bush applies to R33 since its solid already, only R32s need it

Hi

Thanks for that. Yeah I only mentioned the steering spacer cause my mate bought a couple of things for his 32 from the same seller so just listed them all to see if anyone remembered who was selling them. The seller seems to have disappeared however :S

Ive just found an KTS one that I've literally just bought lol, otherwise I would have taken you up on your offer, thanks anyway but

For those looking for a gearbox mount in polyurethene then this is the link for where Im getting mine. They show a RB20/SR20 one but after emailing about R33 mounts they said they also do RB25 gearbox mounts.

Polyurethene Gearbox Mount

Thanks for the help everyone. Who knows how long I would have had to search to find these things lol

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
