blah blah blah here we go again, take your pick. either love your PS3 or spend your whole life writing why the Xbox is apparently better although the question was never "why is your xbox better"

different systems, different games.

im in the PS3 and GT5 category. (as per the question)

my vote gose, buy the PS3 from the shops, Jb or what ever.... buy GT5.... save some cash and check ebay and pick upa 360 for 300-400bux and buy Foz 3..... best of both worlds....

Why would you buy the PS3 new? It's the more expensive console.

I still own all 3 consoles (Wii, 360, Ps3) and by far the best is the PS3. Never had any hardware problems with it, free online play and blu ray player. Have had 2 360's break on me over 20 times in the last 4 years each time I had to repair myself because microsoft always found a way for it to not be covered under warranty. I go between the two 360's when I can be bothered repairing them for the millionth time and just swap the hard drives over, meanwhile the Ps3 just works and keeps on working. I like both the 360 and the PS3 both have their own great exclusives but at this juncture if I could only have one console it would be the Ps3, save myself $70 a year in online fees and the thing doesnt break all the f**king time.

As some others said.. Just go with the one you sem to like.. I got all 3 also.. And i'm more of a 360 guy.. But that's because i was used to the xbox (original) controller.. And i got used to the feel.. The PS3 controller feels weird

So if you've had a PS2 before, then i would choose PS3.. This comes with the great benefit of free online play

If you've had an xbox before, then i'd go the 360.. Better layout on the menu, online costs does give you some more/better options, and focused more on what it is.. A games console..

and we've seen the repeated errors in the GT5 thread. My brother and my boss both have gen 1 360s, never had an error. My brothers has had a hard life in dusty and dog hair filled environments and infrequent updates. The only RROD I have had personal experience with was an xbox 360 that was used on a 40C day with shit piled on it, replaced by Microsoft, we told the guy it'd overheat.

Forza 3 you ca. Rewind if you didn't like the corner you took lol. That is just enough reason to not buy such a pos game, may swell just buy grid. Also div why do ps3 exclusives look as good, if not better in some cases if it's such an inferior machine?

Your time doesn't count if you use a rewind or cut a corner or draft someone etc etc and all your lap times are on the internets or live-nets or whatever.

You can't compare an exclusive, it's exclusive. You might as well compare OpenGL ES to DirectX 9.0 or rather the modified forms the PS3 and 360 use. You know what else uses OpenGL ES? Phones.

Maybe Brink will help you when it's released as apparently it has had the PC, 360 and PS3 developed seperately.

This would finally be a proper way to compare the consoles. They must have put a fair bit of $$$ into making this game if separate development is the case.

still isn't quite a true comparison as the company may possibly favour one console over the others so put more time/effort/money into that console, or may simply have more knowledge about how to push the limits of 1 console more than the other.

choose forza 3. over gt5, even forza 2, i mean i love GT5 to death, but that whole "real driving simulator" is the biggest load of rubbish, might aswell play NFS hot pursuit 2.

Forza is more accurate in just about all the ways. GT5 is more or less just a fun game, no real challenge (besides the endurance races)

xbox has their system more figured out than ps3 though, alot easier and better UI, plus i havent had any game or crashing issues. my old ps3 kept gettin ylod, fixed it over and over again, and finally i put it in the oven too long the last time and i cracked a little black thing on my board, so i sold it for 170 bucks on ebay :D

now my xbox has been goof for over 3 years, played about 14hrs a day.

But GT5 has sooo many cars, lovin the cars :D

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
