Ok, I got caught speeding on Anzac Highway. Went through a camera at around 130kmph. No need to lay into me saying how stupid it was or anything because i've obviously realisd that now...

I was just wondering if anyone has heard any stories of what has happened to any other people in this situation. I havnt heard anything about it yet.

I think the Justice System depends on the amount of money you have.

John Law's ( the radio announcer ) got off a speeding ticket when driving his R-Royce down a highway at high speed cos his lawyer argued that he was doing it in a safe car at a safe time. ( I guess a conservative judge would find a RR a "safer" car than a GTR Skyline which would probably have better suspension and brake package, could be wrong never driven a RR ) I guess you don't buy a RR to hoon, but I guess Skyline drivers are Stereotyped as being hoons.

I think his lawyer showed a habit of good driving by Mr Laws before this event. I don’t know what your record is like but if your record shows a history of such actions they will use this against you.

What time of Day / Night was this?

As for what is going to happen, i have no idea....

A guy up this way got caught doin 190 in a 50 zone

I think he got instant loss of licence and 3 years to think about it oh and a fine too, BUT he got caught by the cops.

Im guessing you got done by a speed camera. I think if u are 30 or 40 over the limit you get a court appearance, but the summons will probably take ages to get to ya, 2 years sometimes!!

Goodluck anyway dude

First thing, there is still a reasonably high percentage of speed camera pics that don't turn out (last I heard up to 33%), so unless things have changed recently, you may be lucky. Quite a few years ago, I got done on 2 separate occasions (once was at night and I saw the flash), and I never got a fine for either one!

Secondly, assuming you do get a summons, when you go to court, beg and plead that you NEED your licence to get to work, and you may get a restricted 'P' plate licence for a year or 2 .... other than that, pull down your pants, grab your ankles and get ready for SAPOL/the courts to have some fun.

I hope for your sake, the photo is a dud :D

im in the same boat andrew in regards 2 faulty pictures.

im 100% sure i had my photo takn doin 95 in a 80zone. did a uturn and turned around, went past the camera just to make sure that I had a reason to be REALLY F*CKED OFF, and I did. Was the only car on the road so it had to be me. This was two years ago :D Guess we got off lucky.

best of luck cheeseman

If you get in trouble the outlook does not look good.

Let me draw your attention to yesterdays advertiser....

http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/commo...55E2682,00.html

A magistrate told a speeding driver "everyone does it" and that fines were "about revenue".

He was strongly criticised for his words but this is where you come in....

The Magistrate was sentencing a driver caught doing 140km/hr in a 80km/hr zone.

Although the Judge said these things he still "received the minimum six-month licence disqualification and a $300 fine."

The driver said that the "excessive" sentence jeopardised his career as a mechanic." But the sentence still stood.

If you get a Summons the outlook doesn't look good.

Once i was out with a mate and he was tailgating a undercover cop back in 1998. He was pulled over, told he would receive a summons, 6 years later we are still waiting!

LOL in all my life of driving (not long btw :P ) ... i've been caught 2 times ... once doing 80 on anzac highway ... but i was overtaking cause there was going to be cars on the left ... but i sped up too fast and the last car parked on the left was a speeding camera ;) ... i saw the flash ... shit that just capped off a shitty day ... anyways i expected the fine and got it ... then the next one was probably just over 70 in a 60 zone ... i was just driving behind the car in front of me so i wasn't really paying attention to the speedo cause it was raining and i was concentrating on the road... saw 2 flashes ... one for the car in front and then one for me ... funny thing was i looked at the speedo just before it flashed and something in my head said ... ur farked ... anyways that one i didn't get which i think is because it was raining that night ... how are u supposed to get a picture when its raining??

also i've been told by someone who knows someone who processes the fines says ... sometimes they just get so many that their system can't handle it and they just wipe the table clean ... ie just throw away a whole bunch ....

point is ... u could get lucky ... :(

All is i can say my friend is that you wernt driving and you dont know who was. Stick to your story and they can fin you and i think with the new law is it 1 demerit point off but they cant make it stick for loss of licence. If you dont stick to your story u are ****ed. I know someone(no bull shit i know him none of this i heard it shit) got chased by the cops lost them locked the car ran off got home. Rang up and said his cars stolen. Rang up next day said he found it. cops rolled to his house and they told him they know its all bull shit and his reply was "you know what prove it" and that was the end of it no fine no nothing. Most "good" ppl wont bull shit for long enough and eventually give in. Timmy knows guy im talking about.

i got bused for doing 131 in a 60 (camera), a couple of years ago. the cops came to the door, the car was under my dads name so he said we lend the car to alot of friends and it could be anyone. so they gave us a $305 fine and thats it!!

i doubt they would do that anymore

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
