guys i put one in the cressi and went 0.7 secs faster at the creek no other mods running the same psi

it is simular idea (kind of) to the audi one but this one is very precise and gives alot more control over your wastegate, it corrects alot of probs with stocky turbos, the big valve is a standard casing but everything inside it has been custom made (to the point of it being gas filled as well), i run an APEXi S-AFC and using the recall functioni played with the precision in this controller, its unbelivable ie i can go from .91 to .92 to .93 bar ect and give the exact boost every time....

i'm going to get a spare sent down and wecome ppl to try it out instead of sitting there saying its bull (i was one of them till i put one in :D ) i've seen a few copy attempts but they never work correctly

Gas filled ??

Hmmm, what improvement does this offer?  Is it in the pressure relief valve ?

keeps the air temp inside the valve cold to make sure it is not affected by heat

ohh and for xRHETTx

My cressida is powered by a 1JZ-GTE (as in twinturbo 2.5L)as well as a few other mods so... does no where near 18's mate!!! do some homework and you'll find i've posted no info on my times exept how much faster i went, the time you prolly got were of a old NA cressi

which would not benifit from any boost mods ....well maybe stronger brakes but thats about it...

This is funny.

In fact i had to fit an LSD to overcome the BIG increase in acceleration

:bs!:

What a load of absolute crock..

I hope you are considering donating to SAU as flogging off your gear is not allowed unless you donate. :)

ROFLMAO!

$315 bleed valve? BBWWAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

This isnt quite as good as mines_datsun, but it's certainly quite amusing at least.

.7 sec gain from a boost controller? :(

I'd like to see that. When at the drags, it really doesnt matter how much earlier it comes on when your in 2nd/3rd/4th ;)

As you most certainly wont be sitting at 3000rpm LOL

f00l.

Just curious....what boost control are all you guys using and have any of you tried out the Audi DIY boost control using good quality valves ie better quality than the Norgren valves from the article.

Dude you are an idiot.

Gas filled what? A valve like this works using a spring and a diaphragm. Are you thinking we're all complete morons or something?

"Gas keeps the temps inside the valve down"? Are you a complete imbecile and believe your own BS? What relevance does the temperature of a bleed valve have to anything.

Go and crawl back under the rock from whence you came little man.

What's wrong with Norgren valves? They are very well built in my opinion. Norgren stuff is A+ quality wise. Theyre a very big company worldwide.

Aww c'mon guys, I think your all being a little harsh. This product is great. I did a bit of looking round and actualy found some pictures of the drag run mentioned eariler by mx83toy where this "Very Special Boost Controller" was used and tested. Take a look a the results yourself.

Drags.jpg

This is a before and after shot that has been blended together to give you good idea of the speed comparison. Just look at the differnece in those 60 foot times. You will also notice the evident wheel spin as stated earlier by mx83toy once fittment of this "Very Special boost controller" was compleated. Of course this picture was taken before the LSD was fitted so you can only imagine the further power increase gained!

Nothing wrong with them, however Julian Edgar (designer of the Audi DIY boost controller) in part 2 of his articles used a better quality regulator and found better boost stability and more and finer control.

I've set up 4 of these systems now and found the same thing. So, if you use even better quality valves will you get even more improvement??

This new boost control guy is saying that this is what he has done and I would expect him to get better results.

Incidently using all Norgren parts and 6mm. pushfit fittings instead of hose tail cost would be about $120 using BIT instead of Norgren valves would double the price. In this context his price is not outlandish.

It would seem to me that a few of you posters don't know what you are knocking and some seem to be incapable of understanding the origional posts.

eg...the moron who didn't assimilate the fact that the Cressida had a twin turbo Supra motor in it( would like to see your face when you line your "Riceline up against that at the lights :) )

Gas filled Regulators are superbly precise things but cost way over my budget.

If he has machined one up himself he deserves congratulations.... not the jeers of the ignorant.

For some strange reason I expect Skyline owners to be more open minded than the average bod......however ...I can live with the disapointment.

End of :D:rofl:

51jay thankyou... i can't belive some of these responses???? this is a car enthusiests forum correct???!!! i cant belive such uneducated resposes from ppl who don't know crap about valves then have the nuts to call others idiots!!!

sewid...

"Gas filled what? A valve like this works using a spring and a diaphragm. Are you thinking we're all complete morons or something?"

No, do some homework, and then come install this in your car and call me an idiot if it goes the same...

Yes its something a little differn't but if you use the same things over you'll get the same resaults...

I put it in my car and went faster ... that simple. the performance gain you get for the money is wild

    • Ha ha, yeah, I've had one following me around in my parts boxes since about 2007 I believe. Just a little iddy bit hole drilled in the one I have to let it vent out once pressure was removed from the engine side. Still no idea what I'd put it on, ha ha.
    • Just read this... Just a little bit of a wild one! Do you think the driver was testing out a new feature/device for how to lose the cops in a high speed chase?   I also suspect, if the box has a road sweeper that does magnetic metal pick up, he does a LOT of work in the machining industry. Which is what most of that looked like, machining chips from a mill or lathe. And I bet they're RAZOR sharp! And from an environmental perspective they really do need to actually collect all of those little pieces too. I wonder how many people still cop flat tires over the coming months on that road?   As for insurance company, yeah, it'd be interesting to hear what they say to the owner. But realistically, he's right, that "It's his fault". In the way that, it was his truck that spilled it, so they need to clean it up. However, neither he, nor his insurance company may bear the end cost if they do an investigation and find out it was caused by someone elses negligence (And they know who)...
    • Yeah, no matter what bad things people can say about Julian from Autospeed, he at least was capable of thinking and his inclusion of a check/relief valve in the plumbing for the Audi boost controller, that I made a copy of and used for years**, completely eradicated that problem. **It's still lying on my workbench where I put it about, um, 18 years ago and have never found a home for it!
    • I didn't actually know this! I've seen photos of the H1, mainly outside shots, and they just look "different". I guess there'd be a few little changes like nicer rims, and probably the fact they have nicer looking paint with some depth and shine, which will make any vehicles body look different to the very flat colours of the defence force.   I've watched the guys on GHPC convert their Humvee to LS1, and they've done some really nice front shock upgrade. I'm waiting for the next video on it with the rear end done. I can't remember if they've already done it, or I dreamed it, but I believe they're also supercharging theres. They will be in the future doing proper long travel suspension too.   If you ditch out your big V8, as rubbish as it must be, send it to my place. I'll let the unreliable V8 motor and box be here. I just like V8s... So I'll find something to do with it... Even if that something is just taking up valuable space in the yard. I might have something Skyline I can send back in payment... Or even Ford Barra motors  (From memory you're in Canada yeah?) So you can then play with the legendary Aussie 4L version of an RB...  Except they don't have that distinctive random miss at idle like the RB25 does.
    • Or you mean the age old problem of early 2000's manual boost tees, where they never let the pressure out of the line between the boost tee, and the waste gate, so after your first trip on boost, the damn wastegate liked to stay open and be laggy on gear change?
