I've gave Cutoms a buzz Here's what they told me.

Turbos

Duty - 15% - Based on purchase price

GST - 10% - Based on purchase price

+ overseas freight insurance

Injectors

Duty - 15% - Based on purchase price

GST - 10% - Based on purchase price

+ overseas freight insurance

ECU (PowerFC)

Duty - 0%

GST - 10% - Based on purchase price

+ overseas freight insurance

I was also told there is a $50 fee if the goods are second hand as they require inspection.

---------

Just a couple of questions. :D

How much is the freight insurance? Is it based on the purchase price?

Are there any other customs charges or fees? (I think she said another $50 fee?)

Any other fee's not related to customs?!?!

Could some one also give me a quick run down on how the process works, where I go etc..

Thanx peoples.. :D

I'm looking at buying from greenline.

joel, u will most def get done for customs here in adel. I got a very small package from greenline and they got me. All u can ask to do is get them to email u the receipt, and if u are game, photoshop the recoiept to a lower value so u wont get done too badly.

Hey this is obciously possible. I dont know what the legal implications would be of this if u got caught. Cya

if you do that and get caught they get an independant evaluation on the goods then you pay that fee X 2 to get the goods then you may get fined x2 again, plus you will be black marked on the system....its safer just to play by the rules

What you were told isn't quite right... Typical government employees :)

What you will be charged is:

Import Duty - 15% of GOODS TOTAL.

GST - 10% of GOODS + SHIPPING TOTAL.

So you're actually paying 25% of GOODS TOTAL and 10% GOODS + SHIPPING TOTAL.

Here's an example.

You purchase an HKS RB26 Gearbox from Greenline for the following:

HKS RB26 Gearbox - 楼781,473

Shipping - 楼200,000

--------------------------------------

TOTAL - 楼981,473 (AUD$12268.41)

Customs will charge you:

Customs Duty - 15% of 楼781,473 = 楼117,220

GST - 10% of 楼981,473 = 楼98,147

---------------------------------------------------------

TOTAL CUSTOMS CHARGES = 楼215,367 (AUD$2692)

I have no idea what "overseas freight insurance" is... I have never been charged for that.

Oh, and Greenline send you a PDF invoice, which you can only edit if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, and even still it's hard to edit neatly.

Ask them to email you an Excel (.xls) version of the invoice :)

    • To be determined, Luke, to be determined. 馃榿 Definitely the car
    • It might be worth having a good look at the chassis behind the bumper then; most people prefer the series 2 look so it might have been changed to cheaper parts as part of an earlier repair
    • The car itself a series 2. I was just curious about the headlights and just wanted to confirm that they were series 1. Good to know the rest of the front end is series 1. It鈥檒l be easier for me to find parts on the aftermarket side of things lol
    • If you've wired up the coils & injectors properly, & have the neo CAS loom for the trigger, it should all work. The VCT works the same way so just different plugs between s1 & neo. Assuming DBW if no IAC. Don't bother with the stock boost solenoid with g4x.
    • THERE IS NO IAT SENSOR ON ANY SINGLE TURBO RB. And the one on an RB26 is not for "engine control" - it's really too big and too slow and is only used for over-temp alarming (as far as I can tell). Anyway, you don't have one. You want/need one for the Link, then you need to buy one, find a spot for it, and wire it in. You do know that the stock boost solenoid is not capable of "control", right? It is merely on or off, for the low boost (5 psi) and high boost (7psi), which the ECU enforces mostly based on gear. The stock solenoid is not for PWM control and is not plumbed up in a way to provide it. If you want to control boost properly, then you need a proper MAC valve. And yes, you can wire either of them direct to the ECU. Well, I assume you can - I don't know what the boost solenoid pins on the plug and play Link are capable of. They really should be as capable as any normal Link - but seeing as it is plg and play, it might be limited to stock functionality. Read the doco.   You really do just want to plug stuff together without understanding how it works, right? I can't help you there. I don't know the plug types or pinning on half the stuff you're asking about. If I had to do it I would sit down with the wiring diagrams, the car/looms and a multimeter and work out what is what.
