Rear Bar Garnish For 370Gt

hey guys I'm in the process of making a garnish for my rear bar to spice it up a little.

It will only be a small piece that wraps around the cutouts for the exhaust tips & the bottom half of my bumper made in fibreglass

my question is for anybody who has painted fibreglass themselves, do I need to sand back the gel coating before I apply the primer?

I'm planning on just buying primer & matte black spraycans from my local supercheap

any suggestions/tips & opinions welcome

I'll post pics of the finished product

Done!

came out great, time will tell if the paint holds up but I used the same process as my front grill & it's held up well so far in the 2.5 years I've had the car

I'll post up better pics before & after, phone pics so far just gotta wait til I can borrow the missus' camera

trial fit (just sitting on top of the exhaust to check fitment)

the finish came out looking like black plastic so I like the 'oem' feel of it

always appreciate comments cheers

andy did you say you saw a sedan version of my car ( = ) or a V36 sedan with a similar rear bar lip ( =   )

If Infiniti ends up coming to aus I'm trading in for the sedan I'm tempted to trade in now for an imported sedan, but if it will be aus delivered it will be worth the wait to have proper satnav/menu systems in english etc.

+ more family friendly & I wouldn't have to downgrade for a maxima/accord, wouldn't even consider falcodores

these kinds of designs you can't appreciate fully in pictures, I hated the sedan until I saw one up close lol
