Im so glad im not the only one who has had these problems. Never had a car come off, but have backed into things, forgotten to hitch it properly, not tied it down enough, used the wrong tow car. etc etc.

got another to add from last night.

1opm, dopey on wisdom teeth pain killers and girlfriend yabbering in my ear. While driving along during vergeside collection i see a bedframe that i think my dog would apprecitate his mattress on for winter. I stop to check it out. All good put it in reverse to turn around n the girl starts yabbering at me. In amongst the loss of concentration i jackknife it. nice big dent up the rear quarter and it also managed to pinch in on the bumper n tear it off :s

thank god for having a 'daily'. -i really couldnt have cared less :P

Never had any major mishaps myself.

Once I had removed the towball to install a shinguard. Did it up tight. Was driving around with a tandem car trailer (Nothing on it) for about quarter an hour. Decided to check the towball. Glad I did, the nut was halfway down the threaded shank. Did it up as tight as I could kicking an adjustable spanner, drove slooooowly home and then did it up to FT (F'n tight).

Another time, doing service for my mate's 89 RS Legacy in the tag-along for the NZ WRC.

We, uh, had to go rescue the RS cos it had broken for the millionth time. However my car was already full. Didn't stop us did it.

We were using my 2000 Outback (a 6 thankfully), I had it stacked to the gills with service crew and gear, towing the 1500kg rally car, on a tandem trailer, with the driver and co-driver sitting as low in the rallycar as they could so as to avoid being seen. Drove like that for maybe 5 k's through 50 zones. Took an hour cos we all stopped for pies (day was shot anyway)

Oh, and I passed a cop like that too (Breath was held!)

Here's my list will start with the funny one.

Travelling on bruce highway copper just pulled someone over & parked on the white line,as he gets out a truck is coming the other way & it's on the centre line i hit the brakes with nowhere to go & the coper bails back inside the cop car head first.

Heading to the drags & notice a cyclist on the road so i check my mirrors to see what room he needed to find one of my ramps had come half way out(ramps go in from pass side to keep trailer low) hit brakes hard & pulled up just before him.

Bringing back a hq tonner with 2 front straps one rear, handbrake was on & in gear and a moron in a 4wd decides to lock up the brakes to stop for a fruit stand in a 100 zone, rear strap breaks, car goes over the front of the trailer luckily the 2 straps stop it hitting the tailgate, bloke in 4wd realises he nearly caused an accident and took off.

Last one was driving home on the highway after dropping car off, it was raining & we were both tired missus is asleep next to me next minute she screams look out i lock up the brakes trailer starts swinging i got it straight then she tells me she was dreaming & woke up,scared the shit out of me.

anna and i had a good one on our way to wakie a few months back, wheel bearing exploded, got the wobbles drove it up the embankment to wipe of some speed and round we went on the m7 with semis bearing down on us. ,

car trailer went 1m in the air and then went under the back of the car, bent the wheel at 45 degrees and pinched the exhuast shut. got out the tools and a big hammer and straighten the lower arm on the camry poped both passenger tyres of the rims, managed to pop them back on with a hammer and air compressor. good strapping job as they were still tight after the incident.. could of had the 33 barrel rolling down the m7 lol.

    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
    • Shimmed or shimless, still solid, no hydraulic pump up stuff.
