hey guys, just thinking about getting an oil filter relocation kit, one with out a cooler" , but when i install it, does it just screw onto the stock oil cooler? or do you have to remove it and block coolent lines or...?? as im sick of spending 45 mins getting the oil off the front diff. cheers

the filter relocator kits dont change the way stock cooler is plumbed. you just screw the sandwich plate into the block and run the lines to the relocator which most people put on the rhs strut tower

Put a Plastic bag over it :yes: ,

its not hard when you do that :thumbsup: ,

This method also works on ugly chicks.......

The plastic bag trick never worked for me, I still always ended up with oil all over the place. Oil filter relIcation kit makes it so much easier and cleaner.

Isent a PM but just realized that you cant PM yet. I relocated my filter to the D/S strut tower and moved the fuel filter back when fitting the F/F plenum and front mount. I also incorporated sensors in the lines for oil pressure and temperature gauges.

I have Relocation kit & kept stock filter too,

I PLASTIC BAG FILTER & put rag on top of diff & its ok no oil sitting there,

& i use New Fitler on Engine & move old filter to relocation,

as i run 20,000 per oil change & change filter at 10,000,

My Oil cooler has Thermostat in it,

best buy kits from states as most double there money on any kit brought here in Australia,

you can get adaptor with Thermostat in it ,

i priced a inline thermostat here & was quoted $120+,

got one from states for $45 usd,same price as TRANSMISSION FILTER KIT,

as you see both are in same spot ,

Run a good size oil line too,not a small line as you want good flow to any filter,

yeh if someone finds a good quality good priced kit to suit, let me know. i did my first change on it about a month ago and couldnt believe how tricky it was to get in there and then the mess ensued.

relocation kit would be awesome and allow you to run an even bigger filter if you wanted.

Be careful with the Greddy kits - the lines on the one I got were way to short for the application. Do a check fit before you actually put it in, and go get some more line if you need it.

cable ties.... Make sure you fasten it with cable ties.

The lines on my Greddy kit were a bit short for my liking. I have bolted the bracket under the fuel filter bracket. Still nice & easy to get to.

The only problem with this is it makes the dipstick a pain in the arse to get to. I initially did it this way, but got the shits, cause I check my oil daily.

Getting new hose (not braided, but then again, I'm not a bling king, and I'm not running stupid pressure through it) cost me $30, including the 4 hose clamps that i needed.

Edit: Noticed that you're using an OX-03 filter in there as well, the relocation kit is actually designed to take an OX-02, slightly bigger.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?

    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
