i saw you leaving on thursday. was doing my first run to the new place when i saw your car traveling up Kircaldy st. (spelling?)

either way, ill be there this week.

Cruise today was sweet!! thanks Chris

any chance of moving this meet to another night in the week? Thursday is late night shopping but Thursdays are really becoming a challenge for me. Thoughts, Comments?

Also hows the new place going Bodo?

in that case Ash i must live round the corner from you now.

Thursday is a good general day i think. any other day is just too early in the week for me :(

and the new place is good thanks for asking. a bit of a scattered mess still downstairs, but room for the Lispy (yes my liner has a name, give to it my the little lady). upstairs is all sorted, still gotta get internets sorted, lucky i got the dongle still atm.

got the engine back for my girls Beetle, will spend the next few arvos getting it bolted together and back in. as soon as its home and sorted i will sort out downstairs. its a good work space down there

all good, was just ralf and i last night anyways.

sry, no idea what the address is exactly Chris. but its on bribie island road, just before Ningi. There is a big round about at the end of the 2 lane 100km/h zone. Basically as long as you take the Bribie turnoff and head towards Bribie, you cant miss it :)

Corner of Caboolture-Bribie Island Rd. and Bestman road Ningi. Google maps says 20km off the highway. didnt think it was that far, as it doesnt seem to take long.

Dunno if im barging in on anything, but i've had a 32 gtst for a few months now... Keen to cruise with the locals as im in Rothwell....

On a brighter note, I was in Peninsula paint today n "saved" some poor sod who thought he blew his turbo on a twin turbo supra.... Turns out he should check his intercooler piping more often.. Fished out the slipped hose clamp and with a trusty 10mm I never go anywhere without, saved him a trip to the workshop. Wish all my mechanical problems were that cheap or easy :)

Im Troy by the way. If anyone filled up at the caltex on deception bay road just up from the rothwell roundabout, chances are we've already met

Hi Troy ,

Your More than welcome to come and join in the fun, We are trying to get a group of owners together so that we can do northern cruises and such.

I think beefies might be a bust due to it closing at 6pm. we could always do curry on bribie it's self or subway.

Meeting at the northbound BP on the hightway (just after the first morayfield exit) at 7pm and moving off at about 7:15 we will make our way over to bribie and proceedd to: insert Location here.

the drive to bribie is one of the best local drives we can go for, please feel free to look online and find a suitable venue to grab a feed at.

Howdy Troy, and by all means join us.

i didnt think of that they might close that early. I' not much of a fan of bribie itself for driving. painfully slow and a tad dangerous with random drivers..........brain storm time. gotta figure out somewhere tho

    • I'm actually not sure - I think it was "Stealth Performance" (It really is near impossible to find a FEMALE 1/8BSPT to 1/8NPT male at ALL) but having the thing leveraged on a 90 degree angle on a small aluminium fitting is not too smart. Also in not too smart, I've drilled out the center of the broken fitting so there's maybe 0.00001mm of thread to bite into, so yeah. I may have to get it drilled/tapped/plugged entirely. Given I could conceivably tap a thread/adapter/pressure line in any point in the oil system I suppose it's feasible to run a line to the Nissan Sensor to keep the dash working. Do these exist in AN fittings and the like? Like an AN fitting that has a NPT (or other?) thread as well for putting a sensor in?
    • I would agree.  There will be an amount of boost you could run safely with an otherwise factory system, but it would be low enough to not be worth the cost.  And if you are reliving your 20s, you know a 'little bit' was never enough. Personally, if I didn't want to spend the money, then stick with NA bolt-ons, and maybe a tune.
    • Fuark, at least the motor survived. What brand was the fitting that snapped?
    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
    • Measure voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when the key is at start and it has clicked. If it is really low, then the suspicion falls on the ignition switch (contacts or wiring thereof) as causing a voltage drop instead of sending enough volts to throw the solenoid all the way to engage the starter itself. If it is a decent voltage, then the suspicion is on the solenoid. Might have s horted coil, or might hva dirty contacts. Rip the starter off, dismantle, clean up contacts and inspect winding. It might not be possible to see if there is a short in the winding though. I have a spare starter here that I could measure the resistance of the coil, as a guide to about what it should be, if you need a comparison. <parts hoarder>No you cannot have it.</parts hoarder>
