i was walking my dog in the park on Buchananans, so i seriously doubt you would have seen me even if i was waving. you were heading home i guess. twas right on dusk.

come join us one night brad?

we're gonna give northlakes a go next wednesday for a change. :) heading to the pub near Dan murphy's at 7pm. come one come all.

Yeah I noticed on first crank on saturday morning and shut down before it ran. Sucked coz I had no tools and couldn't check it out properly. Doing a few checks before work in the morning and if it's all good I'll get to work and fix it that night.

2nd'd State of Origin is priority. On another note, I am diging the style of the S15 I may buy one with a worked RB25 just to keep it RB powered but I am kinda over the 32 it's fun and all but it's time for something else. I can't find a really good R34 not for lack of looking I have also been looking at....supra's but there are so few quality imports that grab my attention and I can't be bothered starting fresh with a GTR.

Yeah man and a photo and whatever info is available I am leaning towards either a worked R34 or an S15 at this point. Had a mild obsession with the new Impreza WRX hatch today but I think I am over that. Might have to bring the lappy along to our next meet and see what you boys think of some of the selections.

ewwww new WRX, esp after driving it on video games compared to the old ones.....seems heavy and stupid. worst AWD ever

supra rocks. as long as its manual and turbo. R34 non GTR doesnt do it for me. preffer the look of the 33 GTST. S15 is sexy. but pricey compared to a liner.

origin 2 is the most important...but this is the series decider. (not that i watch footy at all other than origin)

looking at a supra tomorrow (338hp atw) a r34 skyline on sat arvo (unknown power but heaps of mods) my dream S15 on sunday (420hp atw will do 500 with a tune) and that leaves me with one more to look at when I can arrange a time.

I may be jumping ship to the Silvia family. That is unless I can find an awesome R34 instead of my R32. I will be selling off my 32 now as well.

wouldn't consider a wagon :) ?

    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
    • Just one thing; tapping tapered threads is tricky. Taps are always tapered and you would generally run it as far as you can, but with a tapered thread you have to stop much sooner otherwise the wide part of the taper will run in too far and you will have to thread the sensor in too far too as well (possible that it will never make a good seal) BTW nice wide wheels, I guess the top one is for the back!
    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity. Edit: 11kg each (or 10.9/11.1 depending on what my scale decides over multiple tests, the 18x11 don't seem to weigh noticeably any more than 10.5)
