agreed........

so i got rear ended by a drunken one eyed bogan in a commondoor on Torrens road last night while on my way across town to see ralf.

the dumb bastard decided he could do a runner........(in hind sight i shouldn't have chased him, but the heat of the moment kinda took me)

so i finally got him to pull over in what he said was his drive way (lies), preceded to tell me the damage wasnt his and that he didnt do any of it. and that he has no insurance and that i should just walk away and my lifes not worth it....really?? geebus.......frackin local bogans. needless to say i drove around the corner and called the Police. while on the phone to the popo he drove past again all over the shoppe.

The wife took the crappy ass wing off her R33, other than that its going well. the Hicas light has started coming on over 80kmh etc. also needs inner tie rods outter ball joint thingos and lock bar for the hicas or a driftworks eliminator kit so not sure which way we will go yet. not long ago got a mongoose alarm fitted by Chris Rogers and very happy with his work and the alarm:)

The Cressida finally has some work happening! getting an Emanage Ultimate and a genuine head gasket for the 1jz and started pulling parts off the motor getting ready to remove it to see why it pumping oil. also got some R33 calipers and BA falcon rotors for the brake upgrade ready to go.

I can't wait to drive a real car again instead of my hail damaged festiva which is doing well, just replaced a couple of bushes tonight

Sorry to hear about being rear ended Boiracer that sucks!

bloody bogan commos...

If people are keen, this thursday we are going down to carseldine @ 7:30. The morayfield grp will meet at the bp@7 and head down.

I got work at 8:45 so ill leave around 8:30

just picked the car up.. Only made 320hp which is a bit disappointing. Supposedly had a poor batch of fuel which didnt have enough timing in it.

Mind you upgrading from 240 to 320 is still a nice jump and car has a nice smooth power delivery to it.

HICAS eliminator kit adds to a nicer drive as well.

Will have dyno graph tomorrow as today is a Public Holiday for those brissie folk

yeah I know that feeling, where did you get it tuned?

In Brissie, not big on naming names....

Its more to do with the car than the tune i think

Not willing to name the tuner that is a bit odd...I am looking for a new tuner guess I will just do what everyone else does and take it to EFI.

Why's that Clint???? Just because Peter's not interested in tuning hand granades. What do you think EFI will do for you, that we haven't already done?????

Nothing wrong with a second opinion Brad, Sean did my last car and I wouldn't mind putting a Nistune in to see if the Power FC is the issue before I go spending another $1200 on tuning.

I get the SAU member discount down at EFI for a fit and Tune of the Nistune.

How is the car a hand grenade? I have taken Peter's advise at every turn he is the only person to work on it since purchase apart from an oil change and plugs I have done, just trying to eliminate potential issues 1 at a time.

If I had cash up my sleeve I would buy a Haltech but lets face it House trumps car, I am exploring options on what I can do and a Nistune that is $1k is cheaper while retaining factory R&R protection of the engine rather than retuning a potentially faulty Power FC and it playing up.

To rule the AFM out I will get it retuned wither with another Z32 AFM or the stock unit.

I have sent many of the local skyline owners Peter's way and have also recommended your work as well, I think that as a car owner I am entitled to look at what options are available to me based on my budget so at least I am aware of what is achievable.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
