2000 dollars? Err thanks but no thanks lol thats way over my price limit, might just get some generic head-unit installed for a couple of hundred, thanks!

Hey Grey try this head unit & you get everything with it even a reversing camera input & I purchased just a few week ago but I haven't quite finshed putting it mine yet but it's all you'll need in one Head-unit & they help you out at every turn it theres any problems including Australia Post coz the first one I got in the mail had a smashed touchscreen so I contacted them plus emailed them pictures of all the damage, sent the damage one back to which they sent me a brand new updated version of that model that was better than the first on, now that's a great seller on Ebay.... at:

I have pulled a couple of those back out. somthing to do with the screen not dropping down.

eblow radios from china

no support in most cases

not to mention, old map data , expired maps trial version only, low volume output on deck power, noisy motorized faces, data cards that pop out and jam the motors in the face. trim rings that dont fit the skyline or the radio. digtital tv antennnas and GPS antenna marked backwards on the rear , horrible screen graphics, wiring directions vague at best , hidden features not in the manual, piss week EQ, settings, some are only .5 volt output not 2-8 volt out on the RCA lines which is really low for input on amplifiers these days, the signal will clip quickly , and having to reset the unit a few times a month for no reason, which clears everything settings wise, including the digtial TV stations. or units reverting back to production settings in chinese

dont buy radios from USA either, voided warranties, and most GPS, digital tv functions wont work here. no maps either. lots of refrubished units are out there cheap in usa so caveat emptor, buyer beware

dont do it. !!!

i posted this before on some other forum but some one deleted it. i really like all the other ones i've seen here they look hectic i replaced mine with a tomtom navi and defi gauge on top, i've also got a lcd pop up dvd player at the bottom.

for those that keep sending me messages about the pop up screen I used a few pages back - please stop. those were bought as a closeout from china and are no longer available,. if yours DOES NOT work remove it and put the stock gauges up there OR a GTR MFD.

I have a working one , sitting in my shed..lol

and those who can't use search this topic has been rehashed about a thousand times, maybe we could place a sticky on the one with the detailed info ?

chassis number please :)

R34 GTV had that option.

I can sort the lot out - it will be a full strip and refit. I have a customer with the SAME car that I have a pile of gear sitting at shop the for.

so:

new screen

radio (plays DVDs)

AC controls/ radio panel

NAVI unit.

that will get it doing what it was meant to do. only thing I DID NOT do with his was TV and a reverse camera.

thats almost on the wrong side of $2k for the bits I listed.

and yes I can refer you to a shop in MLB that CAN do the lot.

This is a very late reply :P Just got a r34 and having all the same issues, Is MLB melbourne? as I'm  in Melbourne  and would love it fixed :)

the issue you have is age. the parts that I used to build that one in 2011 are long since extinct. as for getting that one going. easier to shell out for a MFD and integrate that in to the dash.

I am actually out of the game now and doing something entirely different. the shop in MLB is no longer around.

    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
    • When I said "wiring diagram", I meant the car's wiring diagram. You need to understand how and when 12V appears on certain wires/terminals, when 0V is allowed to appear on certain wires/terminals (which is the difference between supply side switching, and earth side switching), for the way that the car is supposed to work without the immobiliser. Then you start looking for those voltages in the appropriate places at the appropriate times (ie, relay terminals, ECU terminals, fuel pump terminals, at different ignition switch positions, and at times such as "immediately after switching to ON" and "say, 5-10s after switching to ON". You will find that you are not getting what you need when and where you need it, and because you understand what you need and when, from working through the wiring diagram, you can then likely work out why you're not getting it. And that will lead you to the mess that has been made of the associated wires around the immobiliser. But seriously, there is no way that we will be able to find or lead you to the fault from here. You will have to do it at the car, because it will be something f**ked up, and there are a near infinite number of ways for it to be f**ked up. The wiring diagram will give you wire colours and pin numbers and so you can do continuity testing and voltage/time probing and start to work out what is right and what is wrong. I can only close my eyes and imagine a rat's nest of wiring under the dash. You can actually see and touch it.
